Edgewater Inn & Riverside Grill

Beautiful Setting

We chose this inn because it was the closest we could get to State College for a reasonable rate. The setting is beautiful. The rustic look was very pleasing to the eye. We stayed in room #1 which is the only room I can comment on. The bed was the most attractive aspect in the room and quite comfortable. The rest of the room didn't have the feel of a rustic home as did the entranceway and common sitting area. The bathroom needs attention though. It didn't "feel" as clean because of the age of the materials used. The only internet access is in the common sitting room that seats 7. Breakfast was continental but mostly homemade and very good. I believe it was one of the owners that welcomed us and was available for our needs. He was pleasant but looked very overworked and didn't have a smile to share. Overall, an okay place to stay, considering the above.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Altoona

clean

hotel is very clean with very modern amenities. breakfast was very good. rooms are very small. the pull out sofa cannot fit two people. I was very glad that we brought an air mattress. With the air mattress there was no room to walk around the room.
