We stopped here for lunch one day. The chicken was phenomenal. Then we went and watch the bull sharks be fed. We also stopped in the nice souvenirs shop and got some cute magnets and it was very clean. We didn’t stay in the resort but it was so nice to stop there and be touristy
I cancelled my reservation 20 days ago and even though it was a "Free cancellation" policy I haven't received my money back yet. I tried to reach the property so many times through email and phone calls and they keep promising that I'll get my money back and it just doesn't happen. I cancelled it but I went to Bimini ans stayed at the Hilton, which is way better than this outdated property with no respect for their customers.
I recently read several comments from readers about the safety in Bimini, Bahamas. I just spent Memorial weekend there and it was amazing as always. I have been traveling to Bimini for many years. This beautiful tiny island off the coast of Florida has beautiful beaches, and good food. The locals are very friendly and helpful. The incidents have been isolated and only locals have been targeted, not tourists. There are several ways to get to the island, ferry, air plane, Bahamas air from Miami, Silver Air from Fort Lauderdale, or you can also charter a plane. If you have a friend with a private boat, is only 50 miles from Miami. Places to stay on the island, the Hilton, Bimini Sands, and Big Game resort. Also you can rent a place on VRBO’s or AirBnB, at a reasonable price. Go, is a great place to spend the weekend. highly recommend it!!
We had our wedding here on April 27th, 2019. This resort was absolutely amazing! The ceremony took place on Radio Beach and the reception was on the great lawn at the Big Game Club. They set up the entire ceremony including the chair covers and sashes, created a beautiful aisle way for me to walk down, everything was perfect! The Reception was even better and they set that up as well. We brought string lights, table cloths, chair covers, sashes, runners, signs, etc. and Ali and his team did an amazing job making the space beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious as well! Great packages to choose from!!! We had a few minor setbacks, by no fault of the Big Game Club, and they just rolled with it. The power went out (on the island, not just the resort) twice and they just kept on keeping on. We had a battery back-up provided by the photographer and we were able to power the music a bit, drinks kept being served and food was ready, what more can you ask for?? We partied the night away, and I have heard nothing but amazing things from our family and friends!!! Ali helped us arrange a brunch for the morning after, and yet again everything was perfect!!! Ali, Beth, and all of the Big Game Club staff truly did an incredible job to make our wedding the wedding of our dreams!!! We also stayed at the resort for 10 days!! Everything was perfect during our stay. The rooms were clean, the food was delicious and the staff could not have been friendlier! We can’t wait to go back!! Also it’s the perfect location as it’s a short walk to the beach and several local attractions, stores and food!
We stayed at Big Game for a week of scuba diving with sharks, we got a cottage room that was very nice and clean. The power went out multiple times during our stay but that was not the hotel’s fault. The dive operation was very disappointing!!! There didn’t seem to be anyone in charge and the people working there were very disorganized and unfriendly. I don’t expect to have my gear set up but these people don’t say a word to you or see if you need help or have questions. One morning we showed up for our scheduled dive and nobody was there, 30 minutes later a guy came riding up on his bike and said they weren’t going out due to the wind. Twice we scheduled the dolphin excursion, the first time they scheduled too many people and we couldn’t go, the second time they said they decided to cancel it and snorkel with reef sharks instead, knowing we had just done the reef sharks as a dive. I would call this dive operation nothing more than boat drivers..... go to see the amazing sharks around Bimini but don’t expect anything out of the dive staff because they are clearly doing the bare minimum to get buy. On a positive note......I came back with all the money I was planning on tipping the divemasters in my pocket!!! .
It is rare but it happens I really didn't like this hotel beside the fact that the dive center is located hotel I couldn't find something nice to say. The only available restaurant is average with not that much of a choice, the staff at first sight is not that friendly and no beach.....There a decent pool but the entire resort needs some refresh! If I knew I have stayed at the Hilton at 15 min ride, a much nicer hotel at almost the same price....
We stayed overnight on our way back by boat to mainland Florida. The marina was fine and we received a friendly greeting and assistance from Cisco. We booked a standard king room. First the good: nice saltwater pool, ability to see the sharks and rays that come into the marina in the afternoon, helpful staff and good convenience/gift shop on site. But there were too many issues: hot water was brown and somewhat smelly, bathroom door had a couple of holes, toilet paper holder was broken, corridor to access rooms did not seem clean or in good repair, power went out for most of the night into the morning and the hotel does not have a generator. Food at Sharkies was tasty but it is all open air and the flies are aggressive. We went up to the RW Hilton for dinner and realized that, for the money, we should have stayed there instead.
Stopped in for breakfast and everything was delicious! My husband had simple eggs and toast. I had a breakfast sandwich. The waitress was attentive and nice. We enjoyed walking around the docks and visiting the stores near by.
Rented a golf cart and almost pitched my wife out of the cart when i hit the brakes and did a HARD right into the parking lot. Great location and it looks like the property is going thru some upgrades. The restaurant was closed so we had to do with Sharky's Bar and Grill . Not much on the menu but what there was came directly off a charcoal grill sitting behind the bar. We will be going back again soon and intend to take a weekend and spend it here. Can't Wait.
nonchalant office staff and a pugnacious restaurant worker. rooms were clean is the best attribute. something wrong with hot water we might accept but they wont explain. once we arrived we saw our accommodations and tried to upgrade to a cottage but desk mgr wont allow us to pay their difference for an upgrade because he says we booked through expedia. n
