AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Rooms are smelly, dark and rotten. Decor is extremely dated. Room doors almost hanging off hinges. Felt more like I was checking into local prison. Spent a total of 30mins before checking out and heading to different hotel. This is a cheap hostel not a 2 star hotel. Would have taken more pics but needed to get out asap!!!
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour by the management they changed locks on doors has soon has there heard Monarch had gone into Liquidation telling quests to pay or get out of hotel by 13,00hrs me and my family go to Benidorm a lot my mother is on a lot of medication and they locked the room until they had been paid, the locks never got fixed the whole stay and left room unsecured for whole stay so one of us always had to be in room has are valuables where there bad customer service skills by manager, and food was not good at all i know only two star so did not mind eating out holiday was ruined, very bad manners and no respect for there paying quests, Miguel is the only credit to this hostel,i have written them a complaint and am still awaiting a response, friends stayed in other hotels and was with Monarch and was not treated like this in there hotels,
This is a 2 star hotel so don't expect the Hilton. The rooms are adequate for a short stay. It was clean and tidy with a fantastic sea view (if you upgrade). There are no other amenities in the room except lights, comfy beds and air conditioning. While the majority of reviews on this hotel aren't particularly favourable, I feel this is because people didn't do their research beforehand. The hotel is in an excellent location, 5 minutes from the beach - that's from closing your room door to the beach. Also 5 minutes walk to the nearest shopping streets. It is quite quirky with various forms of what could loosely be called art around the hallways and rooms. I would quite happily stay here again.
Should have read the reviews before booking this holiday. We took our two grandchildren to this horrible dirty place and hated every minute of it. Thank god they were too young to realise how bad it was. The room looks like it was rented out to "workmen" not holidaymakers. Food was that bad we only had cheese and ham toasties for breakfast and ate out for lunch and evening meals. Couldnt even stand the smell of the food wafting around the corridors. I appreciate it was full of Spanish people but they didnt cater for English unless you wanted chips. The only upside was we paid extra for a seaview which was absolutely brilliant and the location was close to the beach and shops otherwise the whole stay woud have been a nightmare. Not only did we pay for full board we had the extra expense of eating out everyday! To say I'm not pleased is an understatement. I urge you all KEEP WELL CLEAR you have been warned! We cant all be wrong on Tripadvisor.
Absolutely disgusting 'hotel' if you can call it that.paid good money to stay in a hovel. Please don't book here if you want to enjoy your stay.Stayed in room 204 which was like a dungeon.staff rude and obnoxious and not willing to listen or help with complaints.Who the hell has painted the rooms that colour? Had one breakfast and one evening meal and that was enough too never visit the restaurant again in 4 days, paid too eat nice food in a nice restaurant.
On arrival at this hotel we was told we could not stay because our lead passenger wasn't with us. I know this is standard practise but she had been took to hospital in the U.K. Just before the flight so it was literally last minute. The reception however did say that if we could get onthebeach.com to change the name asap and email it to the hotel we could stay. We did as instructed but was told we still couldn't stay! By this time we was in a state considering we was two young girls in a foreign country. My mum rang our insurance and onthebeach.com from the UK as well as me posting on Facebook about the staff being so unhelpful and unreasonable. Miraculously when we mentioned we was in touch with the British Embassy and it had been posted on a Benidorm group with 50,000 members they soon changed their tune and suddenly said we could stay. Below are some pointers about the Hotel and staff in general. •Because it was a 2* hotel I wasn't expecting the Ritz but the corridors and rooms are painted in some weird colours and to me it resembles a bail hostel for criminals. •No air con so the rooms where absolutely sweltering to the point we actually felt ill. •Balcony felt extremely unsafe and the shutter for the window broke and near fell on us (serious death trap) •There is only one socket to use for everything! You can imagine how annoying that is trying to straighten our hair and charge our phones too •Bedding had cigarette burns in them •The food wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst either, I wasn't too fussed about the food because I think for a 2star hotel it was edible. However I was annoyed that we had to pay for drinks at the evening meal, I'm sure half board means drinks included such as water at the very least? •Do not go here if you're English. Staff only interact with the Spanish guests and me and my friend felt like they made no effort with English guests •Facing the beach so very handy and great location!
I just recently returned from a holiday for 3 days with a group of 9 lads who stayed at this hotel. I know all male groups can sometimes have a bit of a reputation but this was a group of family men all over 30. We arrived at the hotel together and were informed that we had to pay a deposit each of 50 euro/gbp. This was quite surprising as there had been no mention of this on any of the bookings and given we were only there for 3/4 days. It was a bit of a chunk of money to give over. We tried to pay this via bank card and were advised it must be cash. So we handed over £300 in English and 150 Euros. When we were paying the deposit we advised the manager that 5 of the party would actually be checking out the day before due to different flights etc and advised this would not be an issue as the deposit was not per room but per person. Come the day that 5 of us needed to leave we went downstairs to the reception and advised the guy on reception we were leaving and would like our deposits back. He refunded us for the additional room keys and the air con remote (anything you need in this hotel requires a deposit!) and when we asked for our deposit money back he was completely shocked that we had paid a deposit. This shows me that this is not standard practice and we had obviously been profiled by the manager and she had ad hoc determined she wanted a large deposit. Annoying and unfair but some people might understand it. He then got on the phone to the manager who was off site somewhere and he came back to us and she said yes and when we're we leaving...I advised him we were leaving in ten minutes due to our transfer being due and this shocked him. He spoke to her and then turned around and give me my 50 Euro and my other room buddy 50 Euro. Then 3 other members of our party asked for their deposit back and advised him they paid in English pounds. He then advised them he had could not pay them as they were not due to check out till tomorrow. I then went back and told him that the manager had ok'ed this on check in and regardless we could check out whenever and the deposit would be due back to us as rooms were left as we found them. He kept saying no we couldn't have it till tomorrow. He knew we were going home and this was frankly ridiculous. After much discussion he relented and finally told us he didn't not have any English money there. (Which is worrying as basically our deposits had been taken?) We asked him to phone the manager again and he advised us she was busy?!? After much discussion he agreed to pay us 50 Euro each. Obviously this meant members of our party were out of pocket as had paid more in English. This left a really sour taste in my mouth as obviously we had been profiled and then basically robbed of some money. The rest of the hotel was what you would expect for the money you pay. Basic but clean and acceptable. It was a bit of a joke how everything needed a deposit and the food was bland but you get what you pay for. Location was great as well and just a 10 minute walk to the new town main pubs and clubs. This would normally get a three star review from me and if you go as a couple I am sure you would not experience this above but any lads or girls in groups.... avoid it. It has left a really sour taste in respect of this hotel.
good staff very clean good beach view shame about standard of rooms and food tapas bar never open also front of hotel like shable also no bar there to have a drink and chat shame about that has great location
This hotel is an absolute dump, it is not even worthy of one star it might be an idea to knock it down, how anyone can give it 5 stars is beyond me. Doors are kicked in, the furniture is falling to bits. It resembles Beirut. It's impossible to sleep as the bin men come and do their collections at 1.00am every morning, doors are banging and slamming all night We didn't even venture into the dining room, evening meal was served between 8.00pm & 10.00pm but it was out on display from 2.00pm every day in the sweltering heat. Anyone planning on staying here, then god help you, there are even bars on the windows if your on the ground floor
This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and am so glad I was only there four days. The room 609 was terrible and you couldn't swing a cat round the decor was awful the shower curtain was two feet short and flooded the bathroom, the balcony was covered in bird crap and the balcony a few feet away had a large dog on it that barked all the time. I don't know what else to say apart from stay somewhere else, it's a good job I'm a Cas tigers fan 😳
