We stayed at this hotel from the 7/8/2017 for a week. Was pleasantly surprised when I saw the room. We stayed in room 401 it was big with 2 separate sleeping areas a small kitchen and bathroom. The room was lovely and clean and our room was at the front of the hotel and even though we had a road view the views was beautiful. We stayed here with our 2 children aged 13 and 10. The pool area was great and the entertainment team through the day kept our children entertained playing ping pong having water fights and playing lots of games the pool area was very clean and the hard working maids was constantly cleaning all day round the pool area. The hotel itself was clean throughout. The staff most of them was very friendly and kind. Now to the not so great the food was ok but it was repeated all week we ate out a few evenings because we were so sick of the same food. The entertainment team in the Evening was pretty much non existent it was so boring we ended up going out every evening they didn't even play music or anything and the kids were so bored. We went up the road to bar 33 which at least had a pool table for the kids to play and music playing and their cocktails were amazing and the staff were awesome. Zoo marine was not what I was expecting it was so busy and it only had 3 water slides it was only worth going for the dolphin it was very difficult to fill the whole day there we ended up paying for a taxi back rather than wait for the transport. We did have a great holiday and a few changes to the hotel entertainment and food and I would definitely stay at the hotel again.
The hotel is clean and the pool OK but how this hotel can call itself 4* is beyond me. There is a two drink rule which seems crazy as we saw no-one abusing the all inclusive, as a result to take drinks to the room (far side of the second floor) i had to make two trips otherwise a whole family of 4 had to go down as we couldn't leave the children in the room. The entertainment team do really well for the budget they are given and deserve credit for it, however for a hotel of that size to not have any form of activities on a Sunday is crazy. The staff are generally arrogant and don't seem happy to be there, one waiter asked a member of our party on a date on 3 occasions having been told the first time she wasn't interested which we found really unprofessional! One a lighter note Sergio in the grill restaurant is fantastic and does the hotel proud. The evening entertainemt if not down by the entertainment staff is poor and im sure a hotel of this size should put on better. We certainly would not return to this hotel.
We had a lovely time at this hotel - our first stay in The Algarve. It was clean & well kept. We were given a 'villa' in a separate block which was spacious and quiet. Pool cold but welcome to cool off in the heat. We didn't use the indoor pool / jacuzzi area. Food was plentiful, in my opinion it could have been warmer. There was a good selection each mealtime and the staff cleared the table efficiently and politely. The location of the hotel was great and we enjoyed walking out to nearby shops and bars and using the complimentary shuttle bus to the old town/ beach. We feel the animation teamed did a great job in the daytime ( we missed them on Sundays!) but feel that the evening entertainment is poor! They try their best but we simply went elsewhere and this is something we haven't experienced before ( neither was the 4pm room availability when we arrived at 1.30pm but we did get our AI wristbands on arrival which softened the blow!) It was extremely hot when we were there and we experienced ants in our apartment which we mentioned to reception (& saw far few after reporting it!) We would go again & had a lovely time despite the one or two niggles - hence the four rating.
This place is ace. Can't believe it has negative reviews to be honest. I am currently here, nearly a week in to a two week stay. The entertainment team work tirelessly to involve everybody. Starting at 10am with a song that everyone can dance to by the pool with the entertainment team. It's pitbull 'fireball' and it's a funny dance with people jumping In the pool at the end. Breakfast is excellent. Great selection to suit all Tastes. Can have cereals, toast breads, continental stuff, fruits, yogurts, many drinks, pancakes , boiled eggs, and full English if you so wish. All day you can drink. The snack bar is a lifeline for the kiddies after 3pm: meals are great. Something for everyone. Many diff Meats, fish , salads, breads , rices , kids area. Desserts. Seriously, if people can't find something to eat, then they should go and stay next door to KFC or mac Donald's because they don't appreciate good food. The chefs are obviously excellent . I love the sautéed tuna and other fish like sardine and mackerel. Meals have been pork, veal, chicken , duck, lamb. The sausages yesterday were amazing. I think the catering team need a big pat on the Back. I enjoy the food and it would make me return again as the range and quality is fantastic. The staff are nice and not in your face like other places so I don't feel uncomfortable- they are nice to the children and appreciate thank yous and good manners which I realise some people don't have these days. Lots of parasols around the pool and nice little kids pool/s. Room is great. Safe (payable at reception), kitchen with fridge (god send) and a bedroom and living area (where the kids are sleeping on a comfortable sofa bed). Beds are made daily and room cleaned. Towels and beds have been changed twice this week already. TVs in the rooms but mostly foreign channels but not a worry to be honest. Nice balcony that we dry things on. Some good cheap Pubs for food and drinks nearby Like the rock bar at end of street for cocktails, cockerel country kitchen and the wander inn. Try them if you want a break. Evening entertainment put on each night if you want to stay in and drink The free booze. All in all we have having a great holiday. Zoomarine is a must visit for families and bus stop is up the road .
This hotel is spotlessly clean and well furnished but definitely not a 4 star mainly because of the all inclusive food and drinks which were terrible. We had an evening flight from Manchester so we arrived at hotel around 1am. Old man on reception very pleasant indeed and gave us key to room (423) overlooking side of hotel and private villa's. Room was modern and very clean but small, separate kitchen with microwave, kettle, fridge etc. Pool area is undoubtedly the nicest pool area I have experienced at any hotel I have stayed and the animation team were amazing, so friendly and tried to get everyone involved in activities. Now the all inclusive food and drink is another story. The restaurant is nice and airy, plenty of tables to choose from but food was awful, I have had better food in 3 star hotels than I have had here. Everything we ate was ice cold and greasy and evening meal was just the same as lunch with a couple of things added to it. It got that bad and made us feel that sick that we ended up only having breakfast at the hotel and ate down the road at The Wander Inn (Excellent Place). The drinks were a joke, wine was awful, cocktails were just pre mixed syrup with soda added to them and the spirits were like dish water. Restaurant and bar staff were miserable (Except for Roberta who was extremely pleasant and helpful) Pool bar snacks I would not have fed to my dogs, they were in the restaurant and you had to go and help yourself, again they were stone cold, dried up and not fit for human consumption. Location of hotel is perfect, loads of cheap bars and restaurants as you walk out of hotel and every cuisine you can think of to choose from. Strip is about a 10 min walk and only 5 euros for a taxi to the old town or you can jump on a bus. Great supermarket right across road and a little further down a fantastic tobacco and alcohol store. Strip was lively but too crowded with stag and hens for my liking. Old town was fantastic, loads of bars and restaurants and something to do for all ages. If this hotel did bed and breakfast option I would not hesitate to stay here again but as it only does all inclusive there is no way I would return as I couldn't physically stomach the food and drink again. Such a shame as hotel is lovely and a perfect location but I am afraid all inclusive lets it down.
The hotel has some crazy rules all made by a management who clearly do not listen to feedback! 2 drinks per person at the bar, me and my wife had to take one of the children to the bar to get our family a round of drinks. This hotel is not 4*! Avoid
The good points the hotel is clean room we got overlooked the pool and was cleaned daily unfortunatly it was usually after 4.30 pm when cleaners arrived and we were going for a sleep before dinner which was annoying. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant at all times. The hotel is very clean as was the pool area. Negatives - Food repetative and boring if you like fish pasta pork or veal you might be ok as these were served everyday. Breakfast was usual bacon sausage eggs pancakes. Snacks at 3 were hot dogs pizza chips hamburgers everyday. Barstaff except Enriquie were very rude and never even smiled. Enriquie always smiled and had a bit banter which was nice. Entertainment around the pool started with the team doing a fireball dance which they done at the start of the day and the end of each session which was good although entertainment was rubbish one day was a walk to old town anotger day a stretch class. Table tennis football fench boules. No games room no pool table. Evening entertainment all inside and was dire. Live music everynight consisted of old men playing a guitar a keyboard. There was a karaoke in the big room my grand daughter put her name up to sing an hour later she had not been called up so we left. He kept getting the spanish or portugese singers up he even kept interupting half way through their singing turned music off and told everyone to be quiet then put music back on. This has got to be the worst entertainment i have ever witnessed on all my family holidays and it was not a cheap holiday. Toilets in reception and outside the restaurant are very dark and have dim sensor lights when on the toilet they kept going off you had to wave your arms in the air to get them to come back on. Showers in room sometimes had no water at all coming out of them only cold water my husband had a few cold showers. All and all i would never return to this hotel as more negatives than positives
We stayed here last year for a week but I have only just signed myself up on trip advisor. What a lovely time we had in this hotel. I don't even know where to start. First of all the staff are incredibly nice and friendly especially Luis he was really funny too. Always saying hello when you passed them in the hotel, this hotel is the only hotel I've ever stayed at that had really good round the pool entertainment through the day that was also very well organised. Aqua gym, football for the kids, games to play for cocktails, quizzes, I don't normally join in on those kinds of things but the staff were so nice I did and actually enjoyed myself. The food here is very nice but the options are very healthy. Wasn't much of a problem for me but my husband who eats quite unhealthy wouldn't preferred some chips or something else unhealthy as he never eats healthy foods but I enjoyed the fresh salads and the bread was beautiful here. The hotel itself is nice and clean and the room we stayed in was very very spacious and excellent. We loved our balcony view, we stayed at the side of the hotel and had a view over people's houses and villa's and it was lovely. We had the tv on every day for a couple of hours while I was getting ready to go out and they have the best movie channel here which was bizarre but excellent for a hotel, we watched lord of the rings trilogy over three nights lol. It was nice to have something good playing whilst I was doing my makeup. The only downside to the hotel is the location which is nothing to do with the hotel just personal preference. This hotel is opposite the new town which isn't somewhere we ever visit in any country we go to as we don't like clubbing or drinking in British bars. We paid for a taxi every night to the old town which was about eight euros but once you'd tipped the driver it was €20 a day for us in taxi's, that was the only downer but I couldn't see any hotels that I liked more than this one so I just risked it hoping the new town wouldn't be British and club like but sadly it was but that was my fault. If we return to Portugal we would stay here again and bring an extra €140 euros for taxi's as one night we had to stop and eat in the hotel cos we had ran out of money but overall what a lovely stay we had thank you.
How on earth this hotel achieved 4 stars is beyond belief. Food awful, rooms dated and dirty with no hot water , hard beds and limited bed clothing. Aircon is intermittent, if at all and rooms have no noise insulation making both outside and internal noises very audible. Poolside is a mess , there are far fewer beds than people meaning we had no time for sunbathing at all. Coffee at mealtimes is only allowed during breakfast. Guests are not allowed to have a coffee in the restaurant at dinner time or lunchtime , meaning the only option is the pool bar with a polystyrene cup. Staff are dismissive . Overall, very poor and I'd never recommend.
Have stayed twice this year. Once in May and just returned for our second visit. The animation team at this hotel are second to none. Hotel facilities are good, rooms very good . Some areas of hotel in need of recarpeting . Food selection good, but please, please offer less veal some clients do not wish to eat veal. Butter fish beautiful, salad selection good. Staff in general very helpful and friendly.
