Astor Hotel Motel

Enroute to Melbourne I decided to stay here. It’s very close the freeway, easy transit from the exit ramp. Close also to the supermarkets. The room is kind of on the small side, but for one night it was fine. The car is parked right outside the door. Bed is comfortable, the water temperature is adequate for the shower. Despite being close to one of the busiest roads in Albury, the facility is remarkably quiet. Overall, value for money, close to everything.

Rocked into Albury with a bunch of mates. Had booked the Astor months in advance and only remembered that it started with an A (probably like you are doing right now through Google). Checked in am we found the family room to be clean fresh and spacious. Exactly what we needed. The bar was friendly, the beer was cold, nice beer garden,?TAB facilities and although we didn’t eat due to timing, they have a $14 two course lunch for God’s sake. You can’t buy a sandwich for that in some cities. Reading other reviews frustrates me as peoples expectations don’t marry with what they are willing to pay. It’s a pub hotel in Albury- it’s not the Hyatt in London. For what we wanted-it was perfect. If I’m ever in Albury again I’d stay there every time.

Ate here Tues 19th Sept....I had Porterhouse Steak which I like well was cooked to perfection..and the salad was just lovely....not full of onion and husband had T Bone which he likes medium which was also perfect....compliments to the chef....wait staff were efficient and pleasant.

Booked this one purely on location and price, as well as apparently good/strong WiFi. Room looked and smelled clean, heater/air con worked well. WiFi? practically NON EXISTENT. Staff seemed friendly. Booked for 2 days, when we returned to room for night 2 room had not been cleaned but we weren't fussed. If you positively DO NOT require WiFi, it's good value.

This was a very basic motel room. Advertised as a queen room but very tiny. No wash basin in the bathroom. The AC was too noisy to use when sleeping. We were advised that these AC's were being replaced so may not be a problem in future. Staff were friendly and efficient and the room was sufficient for an overnight on our trip north.

Staff are young efficient and friendly. Good bar and bistro. Rooms are small and need refurbished. Good location. Can be a little noisy but not bad. Has atmosphere which is more than can be said fot a lot of places

Stayed here for one night passing through Albury recently with my family. We arrived late & checked out early so we needed to go to the Bar for the key. Beds weren't the best but you get that with the lower end of the scale accommodation. Safety wasn't an issue, though noise from other guests loitering around the car park was rife, I would cut the Motel some slack being the long weekend though.

Staff friendly but...We arrived to find yobbos yelling in the car park playing football at 11:30 pm. People coming and going. Some industrial noise outside...air conditioner from pub maybe, but hard to sleep with noise. The room is what you pay, its clean lots of towels etc, but worried about safety. Stay somewhere else.

We were part of a group of 9 adults and 5 kids so were seated at a big table. The next three big tables were from a sports club who felt the need to throw footballs to each other during the night (not the fault of the restaurant staff) but occasionally a wild ball had a near miss with another person who was just trying to have their dinner. We had just got our meals when the sports club decided to have an awards presentation which made having a conversation nearly impossible. Instead of staying seated at their tables lots of people were standing around the sides of their group which effectively blocked most of the other people there from getting to the back of the room to the toilets. (Again, not the fault of the staff). The food was ok. Didn't set the world on fire for me but a steak for $15 was pretty good.

Just needed a bed for a few nights and the Astor fitted this bill. Small no frills bed for the night. Dinner food was ok and breakfast was also fine.staff where friendly and helpful. It could do with a bit of a makeover but it works.
