Misleading / Deceitful Listing
Stay away from this listing — the owner is not being honest about where the property is located. Both the location on the VRBO website as well as what he mentions in his property description (“7 minute walk from the Aix train station”), or alluding to it being close to the tourist office, are false. In reality it is in the southeastern part of the city in a suburban area, about a 30-40 minute walk from the city center. He tried to blame VRBO when we confronted him about it but the details in the description as previously mentioned are consistent with the inaccurate location shown on the VRBO map.
Additionally, at one point when some of our group were hanging out on the balcony (it was fairly late but we were talking quietly), the owner abruptly walked into the property without alerting us and told us to be quiet. We were all pretty uncomfortable and found it invasive that he barged in unannounced, especially as some people were sleeping and using the restroom.
We were also informed a few hours before check-in that the AC did not work in two of the bedrooms, which we were counting on. But we are not a particularly high maintenance group, this was far less of an issue than the two other items mentioned.
On the positive side, we found the accommodations nice enough and reasonably well maintained. But that is all we can say positively. I have never left a negative review for a VRBO or similar property before but we felt compelled to do so here.
