We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a coach tour of France. The hotel was well equipped and our room was clean and uncomfortable. However the restaurant is appalling, our food was cold, and even after several complaints from members of our party there was little improvement. There weren't sufficient staff and even if the food started off hot by the time the staff got around everyone it certainly arrived cold. Breakfast was similarly chaotic with cold cooked food, coffee machines breaking down and supplies consistently running out with delays in replenishing them. A decent hotel badly let down by its restaurant and bar prices which are astronomical.

Very helpful staff in a hotel well laid out for wheelchairs and with good access to downtown Aix-en-Province. Restaurant staff were particularly helpful. Unfortunately the room condition and cleanliness were among the worst I have encountered, furthermore the cleaners did only a cursory clean leaving garbage containers un emptied

the hotel sold to me and my 2 friends a double room with a master bed and 2 camp beds as a triple room (our request was for a triple room with separate beds)... in fact, this was a double room for a family with a child; using all 3 beds we remained without space for laying our luggages; there was no wardrobe for our clothes, only 6 coat hangers; there was only one plugg for charging our mobiles and bateries for the cameras; each time we asked for changing the towels, people in reception were confused we were asking for 3 pairs of towels; we changed our keys 3 times because of their demagnetization; each morning we paid different prices for the coffees; walls very thin and we heard all our neighbours with children running in the room after midnight; hotel close to the highway but far from the city center - lucky us there was a bus near the hotel till the city center - the hotel was the only minus in my stay in Provence

The hotel is quiet, event though it is positioned just alongside the A8 motorway. You do not noice any noice from the traffic. Rooms are clean, well maintained and the staff is friendly. The garden is nice with an pool and a large terrace for the restaurant. A open air breakfast gives you a lovely morning. We stayed for 3 days and would like to come back when we are in these parts of Provence again.

We recently stayed here for three nights and we were thoroughly pleased with the experience. First of all, we arrived by car and the hotel is a few blocks from the Autoroute so we didn't have to navigate through the city. The city bus to the center stops one block away and the bus runs regularly and the bus stop explains the tickets, cost etc. Everyone at the front desk was cheerful and always available to help or answer questions. The restaurant was quite good with outdoor seating and prompt service. Most important the room was good sized and very clean. Air conditioning worked well and there were plenty of electrical outlets for all of our gadgets. Aix is a wonderful place to visit and to use as a base for visiting the area. There is no doubt we will choose the Novotel on our next visit.

It is a splendid hotel and I would love to return. The staff were polite, helpful, charming and discreet. The food was excellent and the gardens and swimming pool tidy and very well-kept. I had a very comfortable room with a great TV and very clean facilities. I could easily get to the Centre of Aix by bus - the bus stop was only 5 minutes walk away. I came alone but as part of a tour group and had an excellent holiday at this hotel

Novotel has a huge attraction from its brand alone. In general Novotel means quality. But Novotel in France appears. To hate customers who want twin accommodation.. in this hotel we were forced to book a family room, advertised as having a double and two single beds (according to the Accor website). That is not what we got. First we were given a room with a double bed and a divan. When we were objected, we were found a twin room, but the beds were uncomfortable. Other things were fine. Breakfast was good, dinner was rather ordinary, but not bad,the staff were mostly polite and helpful. We didn't use the pool, but it looked tempting. The hotel is ideally placed for the A8 motorway. We just think they should take their own website seriously.

We stayed here for a week as a base for touring Provence. We arrived at 11pm, and having requested a quiet room, were given a room right opposite the lift. We were told that they would see if they could change the room the following day, but we just couldn't be bothered as the soundproofing in the room was pretty good (necessary as the room overlooked a busy main road). The bedroom was small, bed comfortable, kettle, small fridge with a bottle of water replaced most days, safe, adequate space for clothes, bath (very high, therefore difficult to get into and out of), shower. The aircon was hopeless; we set it to 10C on full power continuously - after 5 days the room temperature was still 25C. Breakfast was ok but not great - cheese, processed meat, breads, croissants, fruit. The 'hot' food (sausages, bacon, omelettes) was always stone cold, the hot water urn regularly ran out and there were insufficient (2) coffee machines for the number of guests. Not a lot of choice for the gluten-free one of us. The hotel is a 30 minute hilly walk from the centre of Aix, despite its website claiming that it is 'a stone's throw.' Small garden with very few seats, nice outdoor swimming pool. Reception staff excellent. If management took a grip at this hotel, it could easily be seriously improved.

Nice comfortable clean hotel within walking distance (uphill!) of the centre. Good sized room with fridge and tea making facilities in the room which was great. Very small lounge area in reception and plenty of outdoor seating. We didn't use the pool - I'm not sure if it was open, but the weather really wasn't good enough. Plenty of free onsite parking. It's a bit of a walk into the centre but well worth it as its a lovely place. Well worth a visit.

Old rooms. Ours smelt on arrival. a/c was blowing hot air and reception readily offered a room change next door-just inconvenient at 10pm with 2 young children! Average b'fast. Helpful and friendly staff.good on site parking
