Good hotel - would stay again

Our room was absolutely fine and big/clean enough. Howevere, a pair of socks from a previous occupant were left in the wardrobe, which calls into question the attentiveness of the cleaning staff. The bars, breakfast and staff were all excellent though, and the hotel itself has a very pleasing ambience.

Recent Stay

I spent two nights at the hotel in August. Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing. The lack of soundproofing on the windows made it feel like we were trying to sleep on a racetrack, as all the street noise came straight into the room. The housekeeping service was also subpar. The bedding was poorly fitted, with a super king-size duvet stuffed into a double duvet cover, which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. Finally, the food was a letdown. Breakfast was mediocre at best, and the restaurant was both overpriced and poor in quality.

Sandman Signature Aberdeen

Even though the hotel was easy to find it was so hard to find how to get into the hotel to the reception. There isn’t a loading zone so it is kinda tricky. The hotel has very little parking around back but there is a small lot a block away that is also theirs. That fills up fast and when those two are full you are on your own to find a place on the street. The room was large and clean. There is no air conditioning so if you decide to open your window it may get a little noisy with cars and trucks going by. Overall it was a very nice hotel.

The hotel lobby looked nice and the front desk staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the room was not clean. There were dead bugs on the windowsill, hair and mildew in the bathroom, TOENAIL CLIPPINGS on bathroom floor and the tea cupps had been used by previous occupants and not cleaned/replaced lots of dust and dinge throughout the room.' The room was VERY hot no air conditioning and only one small window. as staff member even said "wow, it's hot in here." when dropping off room service. We were on the 3rd floor, but it was hotter in the room than the hallway, like the heat was on in the room. We had a bad experience with the hotel restaurant as well. we came in for a late dinner after confirming with front desk and restarant staff that they were still serving. We were completely ignored by staff, had to ask if we could seat ourselves, asked someone else for menus. they gave us the room service menu, tried to order form bartender and he turned his back on us. So we left and went back to the room called room service. they would not answer the phone so we called front desk who had to leave the desk and track down restaurant staff. placed same order but had to pay room service fees on top.
