I was one of several persons with limited mobility attending the multiple sclerosis meeting held yesterday afternoon. We were met with courtesy and helpfullness from the hotel staff. Indeed as we left in heavy rain they accompanied us to our cars with large umbrellas. One assisted me into a high car seat. The place was clean, seventeen tables for ten. Tea and coffee available on entry, and with buffet. Stall tables for various organisations on way into main area. Pens, paper, water still and sparkling at all places on the tables. Buffet laid out at back of main room excellent. Wide variety including vegetarian. Especially liked the mini meat pies, and the macaroni cheese pies. Both local specialities. Staff were in continual attendance throughout. Good choice of venue. I can’t judge the price range as I didn’t pay
Booked short break through hotel , but hotel took £1000 off our card by mistake this was done in 3 different transactions we had only just checked in had huge problems getting this sorted out so we didn’t stay . Nobody could tell us why this had happened and it’s taking 6 days to get all money put back not good enough for a large hotel group. All we got was a sorry don’t know how this has happened! Not good enough Hilton we will never stay again.
Have used this hotel before and would do so again. The rooms are not cheap, but they are a good size, clean and comfortable. We stayed on a B &B basis and didn't use the restaurant. However the menu for bar meals was quite limited. Drinks service at the bar was slow mainly due to the barman having to answer the telephone and take orders for room service as well as serving drinks. Not ideal. That said, I would stay here again in the future.
The hotel is spotless and well presented. All staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast has great choices. The restaurant has a good menu, food is great quality and sensibly priced. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Room 205... noisy from mechanical ventilation both outside and inside the hotel. For some reason the bathroom ventilation would turn on in the middle of the night and it was not quiet at all. Then add in the pipework vibrations it all adds up to a disappointing stay. I hope its not a theme that runs throughout the hotel. Food was decent and quickly delivered. Really liked the Haggis spring rolls! Would stay again but I would not stay in rooms 205 or 206 due to the issues.
Had a good 2 night here...room was a bit small but ok and clean..breakfast was good...but had to wait on chef filling up dishes as was busy on 2 no morning..can get a bus outside hotel which takes you into town centre.didnt have dinner in hotel went to a wee restaurant round corner..and the Toby carvery...had few drinks in the bar was nice..
Arrived 10pm at night, we had informed the hotel we would be late. Given room, but lights didnt work and no tv control. Went down to bar but informed reception and room was immediately changed. We were given cookies on arrival and complimentary drinks because of room change. The rest of our stay was lovely (apart from inconsiderate people also staying at hotel), pool and sauna good, bar food good, breakfast fabulous and staff extremely friendly and helpful
We enjoyed an excellent night's stay - very comfortable bed and bedding.- There was an extensive menu to choose from at dinner. Breakfast was buffet style-- well presented and a large variety of food available, all of good quality.
Booked an overnight stay with an Itison voucher. Could not find fault with anything. Room and toilet were spotless, shower was great. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. Did not use the facilities this time. However looks as if the hotel has had a refurb. Although out of town it is only 15 minutes on the bus, which stops just outside the hotel, with the return stop just across the road. Will definitely return.
Last year our work Christmas party was held here and I got a single room for a discounted rate of £25 B&B and I loved the visit it was like a wee hoiiday, so when this year I found it was the same venue I was really pleased - until I tried to book my single room for £25 and was told I'd have to pay a £20 supplement, I explained about the previous year and that I couldn't understand why I was being charged a supplement for a single room and was told that they'd been refurbished and now even the single rooms had the 'potential' to hold 2 people. I'm sorry, but i'm totally disgusted with this, I feel I'm being penalised for being a single person. It's definitely taken the shine off my night out.
