We are so thankful for putting us up for the night when Cariboo lodge ruined our long weekend. You were very helpful and accommodating and we thank you for that! Cariboo lodge could take some pointers from you on how to treat a customer!
Paul the owner is very pleasant to deal with. The one drawback is the property is located at the bottom of a hill and the semi tractors use their engine brakes to slow down into Clinton, we had to use earplugs which helped.
It was clean an quiet, and the bed was nice. It is an eclectic mix or modern stuff and old hotel furniture, and well maintained. The owner is clearly trying to make a living by working hard and being friendly. I will stay there again.
Great motel. Stayed a few times. Now i plan my trips to make a night here. Paul (manager) is very pleasant and it makes it more than just a place to crawl into a bed and leave again. The rooms are nice, large and comfortable and have good supplies for travellers.
This motel is very old but is in good condition. Our room was ok and had an updated front window and door. The bed and a side-chair were comfortable. TV service and the selection of channels was very good. Our main complaint is that this motel is located at the base of a long hill so the noise produced by transport trucks braking (using exhaust brakes), and conversely the noise level from louder vehicles accelerating up the hill, is significant. If it wasn't for the newer windows and doors, the noise level would be even worse.
We make a point of staying here when we pass thru. Amazing & very friendly and kind managers. The room is always clean and within walking distance of restaurants. Prices are very reasonable. The managers make sure you have everything you need, adding that very personal touch which can often be missed with accomadations. I highly recommend this motel!!
Hotel has been renovated and updated. Comfortable bed, hard surface floor, well appointed bathroom, remarkably clean. Flat screen TV, WiFi. A recommendable hotel if you travel HWY 97. A natural stop between the Lower Mainland and Northern BC. Owner operator Paul very welcoming.
The place I normally stop in Cache Creek was full so I continued on to Clinton. Good price. Took my dog no problem. VERY clean. And quiet as well. Friendly owner. I will stay again and recommend to friends and family.
With my young family, on holiday in the area from England, we were involved in Landslides, leaving us isolated and requiring assistance from the police. Everywhere was full, but Paul (the owner) found us space, moved things around to help us out the next day and even turned up with food after he saw what a tough time we had gone through (no charge). I cannot thank him enough for his kindness and hospitality (as well as Charlene from his team). We will forever remember their efforts in a time of crisis (along with the outstanding help that we got from the RCMP) and (while this motel is basic, good value, clean and maintained) it is the people that make this... good, decent and honest. The whole town seemed to have heard about our 'adventure', and we were treated with great kindness by all, including a random gentleman (known only to me as 'Robin') offering a ride back to my abandoned vehicle if necessary, and the proprietor of the café/diner just over the road who provided hot chocolates for my kids, free of charge with our breakfast. Clinton isn't likely to be at the top of most tourists destinations when in the area. Do stop off though. It's a small town with clearly good people, this is a great motel, and if 'kindness for strangers in their hour of need' was a formal rating, 5 stars would not be enough!
It was a quick stop but this little place is excellent. It’s clean and friendly staff. Loved the extras like a small set of dishes and thick blue towels. AC was a little loud but worked well to keep the room cool.
