Those taking a flight to Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in order to get to San Jose will not be disappointed by what they find there. There is an enormous variety of nightlife activities, and San Jose plays host to Costa Rica's most upscale clubs and bars. There is also a great deal of karaoke clubs in San Jose. Popular venues include Vertigo, El Steinvorth and Club 212.
San Jose also offers an enormous array of attractions for tourists to enjoy. History buffs can tour the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, to see rare gold artefacts, and the Museo Nacional de Costa Rica, where you ll find a wide range of artifacts representing many decades of local history.
Famous natural attractions include the Celeste River, and the Arenal Volcano; an active volcano situated around 50 miles to the north of the city.
A flight to Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) lands visitors just 12 miles away from the downtown of San Jose in Costa Rica. It is Central America's second busiest airport and operates a bus route between the city and the airport, with rental cars, shuttles and taxis also available.
The climate in San Jose is that of a tropical savannah, complete with dry winters. It is generally warm, though the nights can be quite cold.
