A flight to Tan Son Naht International Airport (SGN) (also sometimes known as Ho Chi Minh City Airport) takes travelers to just under three miles north of the very heart of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Transport to the city, which the locals still refer to as Saigon, is provided by buses, car hires, motorcycles and taxis.

Ho Chi Minh City also has no shortage of special events and annual festivals. Among the main annual events and festivals that take place in the city include the Tet Festival, which takes place between January and February every year and which is the most celebrated such event in the whole of Vietnam, complete with street processions and enormous fireworks displays.
Also in February is the classic Chinese celebration known as the Ba Thien Hau Podoga Festival. This pays honor to the Lady Thien Hu, and sees offerings made and ritual burnings carried out by monks. The climate in Ho Chi Minh City is tropical wet and dry.
