Fly to Piarco International Airport
When you fly to Piarco Internatiuonal Airport (POS) you ll be 17 miles from Trinidad's capital, Port of Spain. A fantastic city, bustling with life and hot sunshine year round, the Trinidad carnival is celebrated here, and the town is a prime tourist destination just before lent, as they want to see the incredible costumes and steel band.
What to do in Port of Spain
If you miss the Carnival, there are always plenty of things to do in Port of Spain. The Queen s Park Savannah is a city park that is a lovely walk, and the center of the action is around Fredrick Street and Charlotte Street, where the main shopping area is located and visitors can try local cuisines such as roti, jerk chicken and West Indian curry. For drinking, there is plenty of rum on offer!
Out of the city center, beautiful Maracas bay beach is only 40 minutes away, and Fort George 20 minutes from the city offers some amazing views and fascinating history.

Piarco International Airport (POS) is one of two International airports serving Trinidad and Tobago. When you fly into Piarco, there are public bus options available to get into the city center that leave throughout the day, Monday - Friday. Taxi services are also on hand as an alternative.
