Most of the coastline is covered in miles of gorgeous beaches with red or white sand and amazing rock formations.
Popular beaches include Oia, Koloumbo, Avis, Kamri, Perissa, Vlichada, and Mesa. You can always find umbrellas, sunbeds and organized water sports but also more isolated places for private picnics.
The areas major landmark is a large volcano. Visitors are able to see smoke and ashes billowing from deep inside at any time. There is also a hot sulfur spring and hiking trials nearby.
Explore the small island of Thirassia where you ll find many historic tales and stories and a few of the most tasty seafood restaurants in existence. The Panorama Taverna serves fresh seafood right on the beach.
Nightlife in Santorini is a bit different; clubs and lounges do not open until midnight and often do not have much of a showing before 1 a.m. The nightlife really means the nightlife in clubs such as Club 33, Koo Clun and Enigma. Club 33 even stays open later than all the others.
