To reach Hu , the former capital of Vietnam, fly to Phu Bai International Airport (HUI). It is located on the Perfume River about 12 miles southeast of the city.
Hu is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the large number of historic monuments and tombs in the area.
Attractions
The Imperial City is an impressive structure located within Hu that contains many gardens, gates, courtyards and temples as well as the Forbidden City.
There are three royal tombs just outside Hu that you can visit: those of the emperors Tu Doc, Kh i nh and Gia Long as well as the historic Thien M Pagoda. This temple is the tallest religious building in Vietnam and is the unofficial symbol of the city of Hu .
Other attractions in the area include the Green Bamboo Art Gallery, the Bach Ma National Park and the Tam Giang Lagoon.
