If you're traveling on business to Wausau, Stevens Point or nearby towns, or for a vacation taking in the parks and forests that surround the Wisconsin River, you'll be well served by CWA.
As well as being a thriving business hub, Wausau's surrounding area is a magnet for lovers of outdoor activity. Canoeing and kayaking the local rapids is challenging, and some stretches of water are used for training by US national teams. However, beginners can also get a taste of the action at Whitewater Park, which you'll find downtown.
Lake Wausau offers excellent fishing, with muskie and northern pike being common. In winter, ice fishing takes over.
Stevens Point is twenty miles south of the airport, on the I39 which roughly follows the course of the Wisconsin River, passing Lake Du Bay. As well as the outdoor activities it shares with its northern neighbour, there's plenty of culture going on here.
Flights to Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) are available from Minneapolis, Detroit and Chicago, and airlines servicing CWA include Delta, United and American Airlines. Several major car rental firms serve the airport.
