This renowned golf course hosts The Masters tournament each year; one of the world s most prestigious gold events. You ll definitely want to check this out, especially if you are a keen amateur golfer.
A park that can be found both alongside and on top of Augusta s levee, it s great for walks and gives you the chance to take in the views of the river.
Notable sites on the Riverwalk include the Morris Museum of Art, home to over 3,000 separate pieces of art and St Paul s Episcopal Chruch. There are restaurants and shops to enjoy here, or you can just sit back and enjoy the view.
There are several historic districts in Augusta, the biggest of which is the Augusta Downtown Historic Distric which covers most of downtown Augusta. Other historical districts include Broad Street, which includes the Imperial Theatre, which opened in 1918 and Summerville, which was built in 1780 and was once home to George Walton.
