Ultimately, you get what you pay for. It's perfectly fine if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel. The service is great. Friendly desk staff. No complaints there. The wifi is bad. Very bad. So, heads up on that.
Good location and safety
The staff was friendly and the breakfast was great. The hotel is conveniently located to the train station, restaurants and shops. Two minor inconveniences: housekeeping knocked around 8am despite the sign on the door and there is no air conditioning. Not too big of a problem as we had large windows that let in plenty of fresh air.
Close to train station, center. Breakfast is the usual good breakfast; though coffee could have been a bit better. Room is small, for two travellers.
The location fo the hotel is excellent as is the price. Very close to the hotel are located restaurants for all tastes at prices that for Zurich are reasonable. I was aware that when checking in the room would not be available until 3 PM. Since we came earlier we went to check out the city. We returned to the hotel about 3 PM and informed the desk that we wanted to check-in. The young desk clirk did some inquires and then told us to have a seat in the lounge as the room would be ready in about 15 min or so. We waited over half and hour and no one came while I observed other people being checked in. To make a long story short, we did not get our room until after 4 PM. The young man that originally talked to me never came to inform me of what was going on but instead could be seen leaving the hotel as it was the end of his work day. The person who MOST EFFICIENTLY solved the check-in problem was Yamei Wang. I've seen many hotel clerks in my life and Yamei is definitely in the category of one of the best !!! I hope iBIS rewards this excellent team member at the front desk of iBIS Zurich City Center.
Rooms are very small and lack even basic amenities like hand towel or napkins. No desk at rooms and you gotta put your laptop over the bed. You can barely walk in the room as there is no space. If you are a business traveller and need a desk in your room to do your thing, this is definitely not the place for you. The staff was helpful, but obviously they cannot change the size of the room. If you are Orbitz platinium like I am, they don't grant you an upgrade like other places do.

We are always open to constructive criticism, since this helps us improve our services for our guests. All rooms are equipped with hand and body towels, as well as towels for the shower. The front desk will gladly give our guests more, upon request. For bigger sized rooms and more amenities, we would suggest the aparthotel Adagio Zurich City Center for your next stay.
