"The lighthouse Inn is very convenient to Long Sands, only 10 minute walk to the beach. Has a pool and hot tub on site. The room we had reserved was in the carriage house and was a good size with a full bathroom. The door to the deck was a nice addition with seating. I didn’t realize the room was on the 3rd floor and only accessed by outside stairs which was a challenge with our suitcases as one set was quite narrow. Coming down the stairs from the 3rd floor there is a sharp turn and a big step down that is not marked. My husband accidentally lost his footing on the big step and fell a couple of steps. Luckily he was able to save himself. But that needs to have some markings g on the stair for people to be aware. As we entered the unit the floor felt very soft like there was a problem with the flooring, a little disconcerting as we also saw several carpenter ants in the unit. The furniture looked new but not sure about the mattress which was very uncomfortable. We both woke up with backaches and feeling very stiff. As we were only there for 2 nights we didn’t say anything."
