We were only here a few nights and usually do a weekend cabin trip like this at least once per year. Compared to previous experiences and other options in this price range, we were rather disappointed. After a day of traveling, the check in process required two separate 10-40min phone calls with the property manager to provide details for their expectations of us. Everything discussed on the call was also written in the instructions book in the cabin, so this felt extremely unnecessary. Couple this with a comment from the owner about “tracking us down if we don’t call when we got to the cabin”, and negative comments about the previous guests, we were questioning if we were being watched or if he would show up unannounced. As previous reviews have stated, the cleanliness was not up to standards as we found bugs in both the kitchen and bedroom, and the kitchen seemed to have a garbage smell even though the garbage had been taken out prior to our arrival. Unfortunately the owner also admitted to not being able to clean the hot tub as well as they would have liked too, so we hardly used it. We liked the location, and if a few changes were made to enhance the guest experience, then we could have easily given a 5star review.
