The property listing was accurate on the surface. What the listing didn't tell you about was all the issues going on with the property. When we received our check-in information 24 hours before arrival time, we were notified that a balcony off one of the bedrooms was not accessible due to structural issues. That's fine, it probably wasn't going to get used anyway. What the information didn't tell us about was the swinging chair/bed that is attached to the balcony was not available, that there was exposed wiring throughout the property, inside and out, including in "wet" areas like the bathrooms, the roof leaking a black tar-like substance over the dining room table, the burned out light bulbs, a ceiling fan that doesn't appear to work, the AV equipment in the home theater hooked up wrong, and the ice maker that was leaking onto the hardwood floor. That's a lot of issues for a single property. The house itself was wonderful. Our party of 14 was comfortable and everyone had their own space to enjoy throughout our stay. At no point did we ever feel cramped, even at meal time, and it was nice to be able to have all 14 of us together in the great room at the same time.Unfortunately, the property has several significant maintenance and upkeep needs that need to be addressed. Those needs caused major distractions from what should have been a very relaxed stay. Of the reported issues, the easy ones were addressed by the management. Too bad the others will take some time.

Gas grill could have been better, the upstairs bedroom had the balcony blocked due to borer bees, the kitchen sink was clogged and garbage disposal didn’t work (these two things were fixed), and it lacked closets and hooks in most bedrooms. It had a great view, game room and hot tub was nice. Viking stove/oven was cumbersome. Two safety issues: rock steps going into the house and some rugs were a trip hazard.

A beautiful spacious home. Huge covered front deck with wonderful view and great game room. Good wi/fi. A few things could make this great place better: front steps unusable and dangerous: not enough light in kitchen; no railing on steps down to movie room; no steps to hot tub when we arrived.

Ladies Long Weekend
Bear Vista Trail is an amazing house! We had a group of 10 ladies, and there was plenty of space for us to spread out if some wanted to play music and hang out while others wanted to just chill. Beautiful house inside and out with all the bells and whistles. We are already talking about coming back!

Beautiful house with a few small issues
Overall, this was the perfect house for a large group. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house was immaculately clean. My only issues were: WiFi (connection was poor overall, but you cannot get anything to stream at all in the basement theater). And lack of curtains/blinds in the bedrooms. This led to a lack of privacy and also the sun was extremely bright, early in the morning. It was hard to sleep in the master bedroom for this reason. Generally speaking, though, the house and setting were picturesque. If they hard wired the WiFi in the house and added some blinds, it would have been perfect.

Great house
This house and location are wonderful. You really feel enveloped in the forest. I loved being 30 minutes from Asheville for restaurants and shopping. The house is expensive and comfortable, with a great kitchen and the 2 levels of deck outside to watch the smoke on the mountains rise in the morning, and listen to the chorus of nature at night. If I am or nitpick, it would just be that the doors to outside were a little finicky, and the air conditioning was automatically set and would reset to the set Temperature, so I got up to change it many times in the middle of the night (I’m a hot sleeper). Otherwise we truly enjoyed our stay.

Great vacation and location
Had a few issues, which were resolved quickly. However, due to hot tub maintenance we were not able to use the hot tub the last two days of visit, as it was cold after service and the air hockey table was not working.
Beautiful view, gorgeous house, great location, and theater room was awesome!

Stunning Retreat
This house is absolutely stunning in every way. There is plenty of space for everyone to be together or take advantage of some peaceful moments of solitude. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The game room, theatre room, and back deck were all excellent gathering places. The kitchen was excellent to cook for a large group in. The beds were super comfortable. And the kids had a blast. We hope we can come back here!
