A gem of a property! A whole private island with use of kayaks and canoes. The cabin in one open room with an enclosed sunroom/dining area. The main room and and sunroom each have a pull out couch. The outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower, and outdoor washroom and very well set up and produces lots of hot water and good water pressure. The cabin itself is rustic and has an incredible stone fireplace. The host was kind and gracious and ferried us over with our belongings with their motor boat. You will not miss having AC! The surrounding water and trees kept us cool in the peak of summer. The bugs weren’t as bad as on the main land either but do use bug spray. The wildlife is also incredible; we woke up to the sounds of loons and eagles. A great blue heron frequented the east dock. Painted turtles and small fish can be seen from the east side of the island as well among the duck weed and there’s a rumoured snapping turtle to look for too. The west side was clear of weeds and turtles and was perfect for swimming and watching the sunsets. It feels totally secluded on the island though the mainland is super close by and going into to town only takes about a 5min drive. We’ll never forget our stay. It was glamping meets cottaging and at a great price with incredible views.
