The staff where brilliant and helpful. The only issue i found was finding the room. Not enough signs but apart from that i will be definately staying there again in the very near future.

The biggest plus about this property is the staff: they were wonderful, both at check-in and at check-out. The lobby area is large and inviting, and well-lit. Rather than having on-site parking, the property chose to turn the hotel forecourt into outdoor seating with picnic tables. While sitting outside might be nice in the wamer summer months, not having on-site parking is a negative: the hotel sits on a residential street, so street parking nearby is at a premium. The bedroom corridor and bedroom itself immediately brought to mind a hotel I stayed at in Cornwall in the 1970s. Both were clean and properly maintained, but a renovation would not go amiss: the wall paper was very 1970s! The bed was comfortable as were the pillows, and the comforter was great: I slept like a baby! The bathroom, however, was minute, and that is not an exaggeration. It was a squeeze to get into the shower, and as a 6'1", 250 lb woman, there was barely room in the shower stall to get washed. Given the size of room overall, there would have been plenty of room to increase the size of the bathroom without taking away any of the spaciousness of the bedroom. Overall, this hotel served its purpose as a low-budget, affordable overnight stay, and I would certainly choose to stay here again.

You get what you pay for!

The hotel was cheap and it shows. We were staying to visit family so it was somewhere to sleep and shower so was adequate for our needs. It’s very tired and need a major investment to bring it upto a reasonable standard. That being said, it was warm and clean and for what we paid, we didn’t have high hopes. Staff were extremely professional and friendly and the one reason I would return! It was out of season so I would hope that there would be more to offer in season.

Uncomfortable

The check in experience was great with friendly staff at reception. The room however not so great. I have stayed here twice before and was always given a comfortable room. The bed was so hard that I barely slept. The pillows werent much softer. The room was tatty although for the price I wouldnt expect anything more. Sad to say i won't return.

Overall good !

When i arrived there was no one on reception. I hung aroung waiting no message to say if anyone would be back, eventually i got the bar man to check me in. The room was comfortable and had everything that was needed for my stay,. In the morning i had a shower the side glass leaked so floor was soaked and even after running for about 25 minutes water was only Luke warm, i reported this to reception was advised to try other times of day and or to run sink tap at same time, neither of these methods worked so not hot shower during my stay. Other than that would happly stay here again, is clearly a coaching hotel... breakfastcwas very nice hot food and good service, friendly staff!

pleasant hotel

Trecarn was anice hotel in its day, sadly in need of renovation, however ground floor windows have been recently replaced with new double glazed windows. Price is cheap, however the heating is rarely on, need to get mobile oil heater to warm up room. good resturant and choice of meals. Lift is tempermental, rarely worked over last two/three years, however at last visit I was told that they have spend quite a bit of money on repairing lift and they hope it is fixed now. A cheap hotel for overnight stay
