If you're looking for something super simple, clean, with access to a kitchen, and you are on a budget, this is the place! My room had a desk and a bed with access to a small private bathroom. The host and other guests are very respectful. My room didn't have a window to the outside but if you're here for a short time or are expecting to be out most of the day anyway, this isn't a problem at all. Highly recommend. I will be staying here when in Toronto from now on.

One night stay. Great communication with office staff during my delayed arrival. Very clean and comfortable room ( queen with own bathroom). Great value. Common kitchen area had coffee for short stays. Would definitely stay again. Great access to transit. It’s an older home so has .some of the quirks of its era. Regarding reviews about the location being close to food bank etc - I didn’t feel unsafe but, like on many big city streets these days, use your smarts to stay safe at night.

It's quirky with lots of steps, but it's clean and comfortable and a great value. Staff is very welcoming. Interesting neighborhood, streetcar handy, super-convenient location. Ideal for solo travelers.

Close to plenty of places to eat. Streetcar and bus routes is literally one minute walk away. Can walk to downtown in 30 mins although I do like walking and walk at a decent pace. Note that you have to leave your shoes in a cubby hole with your room number on it. There is a shared kitchen, although I never used it so cannot comment on it. There's no TV in room which is fine as that is not something that affects my decision for accommodation - as long as it is clean and quiet which it is. Would stay again if visiting Toronto.
