Private Villa With Spectacular Estuary View
Garden House Kina has its own Farm Shop and Cafe, this is quietly tucked away out of sight, a 2 minute walk from the accommodation. All is located in the beautiful countryside of the Tasman region, sitting amongst acres of rolling grassland, our own olive groves and garden. Kina is home to the best local vineyards, three within walking distance. These include Kina Beach Vineyard our favorite, next door. Kina Cliffs just beyond, accessed off the walk to the golf course, and Blackenbrook wines behind Tasman village
Kina Beach is also a popular place for visitors to the area, perfect for long walks and early horizon sunrises. The water is warm and safe to swim, with snapper an easy catch for the keen fisher. The estuary located across the road from the property is calm and graceful, lovely for launching our kayaks or the more exciting water sports, If you bring a boat, at the far end is a slipway, to access the ocean or the popular waterski area.
Cycling is a major activity, either on the Taste Tasman Trail which links us with Nelson to the East and Kaiteriteri to the West. Both easy riding on mostly flat tracks There are also some of the best Mountain Biking tracks in the country within 30 mins of here.
Embrace the sleek, Scandinavian luxury of our recently renovated studio. The touches of greenery help our guests relax and feel immersed within nature. The studio is fitted out with a queen bed for 2 people but an extra person may be accommodated on a sofa bed or even a couple of kids that don’t mind sharing.
Enjoy our fresh organic seasonal range of homegrown vegetables and fruits as available, on request at modest charge. Drink your delicious complimentary bottle of Kina Beach wine, while enjoying the beautiful sunsets across the Western Ranges. During the day take a stroll around the olive grove and find yourself in company of our native Fantails, or sit under the pergola and watch the feeding Tui's.
Special conditions: On leaving the property guests are expected to leave The Garden House reasonably tidy. Our cleaning service only operates on changeover day in between guests occupancy. Beautiful with retreat with the best hosts, you could ask for!
Paul and Karen were very welcoming, and went out of their way to make our holiday a great one. We felt like we had a little oasis of our own with a beautiful large garden area that was for our use. The location is central to all the action in the Tasman area.
The farm shop was wonderful for picking up fresh produce, and we had many coffees sitting down there enjoying the vibe.
The unit was a bit rustic, but overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend it.
We felt like we were leaving friends when we departed.

Lovely spot, lovely hosts
A short weekend visit but felt very relaxing. A great little unit that has everytjng you need and the added benefit of the cafe on site and wonderful food and produce - this was a big bonus! Lovely gardens to walk through and of course the beach down the road. Lovely stay we will be back!

Lovely vacation spot, wonderful hosts
We truly enjoyed our stay! Very comfortable accommodations and generous hosts. Their gardens were lovely and their little cafe/store had delicious treats. They even had a very well equipped first aid kit when we needed it! Lots to see and do in the area. We were there 3 nights and would have enjoyed staying longer.

Garden Oasis
Great property owners and spacious accommodation. The real prize are the grounds around this property and their sweet shop for fresh produce and fruits from their gardens and treats to enjoy with your coffee.

Superb Location & hospitality
We booked the Garden house for a weeks rest & relaxation and got both in spades.
Paul & Karen were all and more you could ask for in a host. Both in making sure your stay is as you want it and help with local knowledge for places to visit.
Gave some sound advice for catching a Salmon at Anatoki Salmon in Takaka.
Garden house is everything you need to achieve a relaxing break, great location between Motueka & Mapua with the garden café and shop a short walk away for your Coffee or iced latte and freshley picked fruits from the property.
Located amongst the lovely gardens with lots of colour and variety.
It was tempting to stay for longer but we had settle for the thought of returning at another time.

perfect in every way,
We stayed at the Garden studio for a week, and felt so lucky to have chosen this accommodation. The studio was exactly as shown, comfortable, well appointed and for us- most importantly- set in one of the most beautiful locations we’ve ever stayed. Our hosts, Paul and Karen, were wonderful and made us feel like their guests, not just someone renting their unit. The location is very convenient for this area and made day trips to Nelson, Mapua and Motueka a breeze. Thank you PAul and Karen, if we’re ever back we know where we’re staying!

Beautiful little studio
This bach was so lovely, out of the way of Nelson, but super close to Motueka and Mapua. The hosts were lovely, always giving recommendations and checking in. The garden store they own next door is also lovely, with coffee, fruit, veg and other local goods.
Super clean, well stocked with everything you need!
Would recommend.

All that it is advertised to be
What a magic spot well situated between Mapua and Motueka. A quiet location elevated with a vista of hills and inlet. The unit is attached to owners place but very private with own deck and entry just as you see in the pictures. Really nicely appointed with all you need for a comfortable stay. The hosts are really lovely people very helpful but respect your privacy. We used the courtesy bikes enjoyed walking in their gardens and the bonus of their onsite wee cafe serving great coffee and selling produce from their stunning gardens. A must stay experience. Thanks guys .

Garden House Kina
Beautiful location reasonably close to Abel Tasman National Park - you will however need a car to get around as it is quite far from the airport, restaurants, shops etc.
