Step into Birdie, a charming 1908 residence nestled in the heart of Tacoma. Here, you'll be treated to captivating downtown cityscapes, scenic landscapes, and a sweeping panorama of the cascade mountain ranges, with the majestic Mount Rainier gracing our view on clear days. Just like the birds that herald the morning sunrise, Birdie's atmosphere resonates with a symphony of inspiration and creativity, welcoming you to this unique abode.

About the Space

This house is a top/bottom unit. You will be staying in the upper unit, completely separate from the bottom unit, with its own entrance. The lower-level basement constitutes a distinct, entirely separate unit, complete with an independent side entrance. A petite front yard exclusively belongs to the upper unit, while the highlight is undoubtedly the balcony deck accessible through French doors in the kitchen, a favorite feature that offers a breathtaking 180-degree vista of the city skyline and majestic mountain ranges.

The primary floor boasts a stunning living area adorned with designer light fixtures, a dining space seamlessly connected to the kitchen, and lofty vaulted ceilings that create a sense of spaciousness. Abundant natural light bathes the interiors from dawn till dusk, rendering the residence exceptionally luminous. Ascending the original 1908 staircase, two snug chambers await, each with its unique character - The Crow Room, exuding an intimate and moody ambiance, and The Hummingbird Room, a romantically adorned space with exposed brick accents. The bathroom is a gem with a "wet room" concept, combining a beautifully tiled shower and bath, personally cherished as one of the home's highlights. It's equipped with a bathroom fan that incorporates a Bluetooth speaker. In April 2023, brand-new organic mattresses were added, accompanied by soft sheets, snug blankets, and an assortment of pillows to cater to individual preferences.

Throughout the residence, you'll discover the work of local artists, and if any of these pieces pique your interest, consult the guestbook for purchasing details. Tacoma's rich history and vibrant art community are showcased here. Additionally, a selection of sage and locally crafted apothecary products is available at attractive prices.

Birdie is ideally situated as a central hub for exploring multiple farmers' markets, night markets, pop-up shops, antiquing opportunities, and an array of exceptional dining destinations, making it the perfect retreat after a day of adventure or hard work.

The front of the house is encircled by a 6-foot wooden fence, augmenting both privacy and security. Landscaping work has been completed and will serve as your own private oasis.

Access to the backyard is shared with the downstairs tenant; kindly notify us if you wish to utilize it. For security purposes, there is a ring doorbell located on the front entrance to the house. There are no interior cameras. Minut noise sensor in common area.

May the souls who journey to Birdie depart feeling rejuvenated and creatively inspired, having savored a truly nourishing experience.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms and a dining area. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a coffee maker, and an ironing board.

A good place for a few nights.

The house is renovated nicely. I liked the way it is decorated. The front door doesn't seem safe. The air conditioner in the front bedroom is only held in with a piece of insulation. You can hear everything through it. Otherwise, the kitchen is nice. The knives could stand a sharpening. The view is nice when the sun is out. The location is okay. Overall, it's a good place to stay. Comfy beds and clean.

Charming Vintage Abode

Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, this charming old house exudes character and warmth. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by fun and eclectic vintage decor that extends to the rooms on the second floor. Each corner of the house tells a story, adorned with art pieces that give the home personality and appeal. The kitchen has been updated with modern appliances and accents, and offers a good selection of coffee and teas. There is also plenty of street parking in front of the house.

Beautiful home, great place for a ladies weekend

Some friends decided to get away for the weekend. This home was a beautiful escape, and had such beautiful furnishings, it made for the perfect backdrop for pictures. One thing I will mention is the listing does tell you there is a downstairs unit, but it is way down in the listing. So make sure to pay attention to that. Really was not a problem, as they were quiet, but quiet hours are pretty early for a weekend. We had a group of 4 ladies and 10 was early for quiet time in a Friday.

Vibrant and Convenient!

We did a quick overnight to see a concert at Haub Field, just a few miles away. Perfect house to gather with some friends in before heading to the show. The first floor layout is pretty open and designed with upbeat and vibrant colors! Second floor offers two quaint bedrooms and a lovely bathroom with wet-room / clawfoot tub. Off the kitchen there is a nice little balcony with a view of Mt. Rainer!
