Great Stay

Very nice, pet friendly property in a great, quiet location. The check-in and check-out process was very easy. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Property

I always enjoy staying on the West end and this was the first time I was able to bring my dog. It was a lovely home and we had direct access to the beach. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Place

The property was perfect for our family. There was plenty of space for everyone to be together and to have their own space at night. Being able to walk right out to the beach was perfect. We will definitely stay here again!!!

Amazing stay

We really had an amazing stay. The house was perfect for our family. The beach is beautiful and there is an awesome view from the house. The only downside was that we had to provide/bring everything from toilet paper and hand soap to bath towels. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and cookware. Don't get me wrong, we had a perfect weekend, just be prepared to pack a LOT of essentials.

Family time

Good place for a large family to get together, lots of room to spread out. Still surprised paper products, kitchen & bath towels are not provided, that was a first for me.

Bad and good

House is great. Some of dishes were dirty, we found roaches in one of the beds, we couldn’t use the half bath. It was under construction and location was too far from the bridge. But it was a nice home for a family

Anniversary trip

The house was very nicely laid out. The two fridges were perfect. No garbage disposal. Large w/d. the carpeted steps leading up to entrance door needs replacing. Very ragged. The door needs repainting to present a more appealing entrance. The pictures on the inside of the kitchen cabinets were a big help in replacing items. Overall, quite nice. Was very expensive once VRBO fee was added in. I hadn’t see that charge in the contract tho I was assured it was there.

When we arrived, the area under the house was cluttered with wood and debris. The deck furniture was stained, broken, and uninviting. The deck and handrails hadn’t been treated in years, so we couldn’t walk barefoot, and we spent time pounding nails to avoid injuries. Inside wasn’t better. The house wasn’t cleaned properly—sand in sheets, mold around shower doors, and dirt under furniture and blinds. One refrigerator smelled like rotten fish and was unusable, stinking up the entire lower level. Many kitchen appliances barely worked, so we used our own. The first thing we had to do was clean the house. The worst problem was the roaches/palmetto bugs. On arrival, one was on the wall, but at night it turned into a nightmare—dozens swarming, making it impossible to sit outside. We immediately contacted our host and they sent an exterminator. The exterminator admitted the house hadn’t been sprayed in months, which explained the infestation. We later learned the house was for sale and not being maintained, which made sense but didn’t help. Considering the premium we paid, this was the worst rental we’ve ever stayed in. To top it off, the promised gas grill was missing, so we had to buy charcoal and lighter fluid. On the positive side, VRBO and the real estate company were easy to deal with. Hopefully, new ownership will restore the property to its potential.

Family Time

Our family lives in 3 different states. We met at Splash IL for an entire week. We had great weather and an almost perfect week. We especially loved the privacy of the area and having to beach fir just our family.

Nice & Roomy Beach House

This rental property was perfect for our extended family of 20 that ranged from age 2 to 78. The house was room and had plenty of space for us to spread out, and a perfect number of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate all of us. The house furniture, decor, and appliances were all up-to-date and modern. The beach in front of the house felt almost like a private beach, as no other families were close by. The pool was well kept and fun for all ages. We would definitely stay at Last Splash II again!
