Steven and John opens up their beautiful home to our family for our Christmas get-away. It was so clean, well kept, comfortable and all around a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this property for families of all ages! Truly appreciate the opportunity to stay at this amazing place of beauty and peace.

The hosts are very responsive and super polite. The house is in OK condition but outdated, which becomes even more evident in person. The carpets can use a wash, the same is true for the couches. The walls need a fresh paint and some of the mattresses need to be replaced as they are pretty uncomfortable.

We enjoyed a long early fall weekend up in Door County and this beautiful and magical lighthouse. The treasure box for the kiddos was such a fun find for them as soon as they explored the house. The view is amazing from the main floor to the top of the lighthouse. Yes you can climb to the top! It was a bit cooler when we were there but the hot tub was the perfect thing to warm us up. That and the wood burning fireplace. Our dogs even enjoyed lounging around all day. We made it thru 3 puzzles and one floor puzzle. My daughter made a fairy house that brought presents everyday (see pic). Grandma outdid herself with that but it added to the magic of this house. We were comfortable and felt like we were at home. Extra blankets, comfy beds and couches and even fully stocked bathrooms. Everything Steven and John had to offer was wonderful. Would definitely recommend this house!

Superb, large beach house, very well kept and appointed. Very comfortable for our multi-gen family of 8. Easy access to Sturgeon Bay town, Potawatami Park. Very responsive hosts when needed. Couldn't be better - would def return here!

Perfect home away from home

This property blew us away from the time we pulled into the driveway. The home is absolutely beautiful and had that money feeling. We loved the welcome snacks and drinks. Such a sweet surprise. The view of the lake was breathtaking whether you were sitting on the deck, in the living room, at the fire pit, or from the hot tub. The loft was an awesome place to hang out in the evenings after dark. We also spent some time at the top of the spiral staircase in the bonus space. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The bedrooms were all comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet. We rarely met any cars on the road coming to the place. We loved that! It was a quick easy drive to town when we did need something. We did really battle the mosquitoes outside… But nothing that some citronella candles, and a can of yard guard couldn’t fight! thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We would definitely stay here again if we make it to door County in the future.

The property had a great location right on the bay, the sunsets were amazing. Loved the kayaks and paddle boards which were used frequently. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, Steven and John even had a complimentary welcome basket of snacks.We had 9 in our group and there was plenty of room to sleep.Check in and check out were a breeze and Steven was available to answer any questions we had.

This place has everything for the whole family and truly a magical feel to it. From the welcome baskets, to the kayaks, to the lookout tower, we never had any reason to leave during our stay. We fully intend to be back year after year here.

Quiet beautiful location and amazing hosts. They made sure everything was to our liking and always available during out stay. Particularly appreciated the kayaks and paddleboad and amazing view of the bay - gorogeous at sunset. The house had more than enough room for 6 of us and there were spaces we didn't even use :)

Amazing Stay!

Perfect winter retreat

The house and the host were very welcoming and accommodating to our whole family, including kids and dog. The fireplace and great room were a perfect setting for our family meals and game night. Can't thank Steven enough for warm welcome and great time!

Wow! What a great place

First night we were able to catch amazing photos of the Northern Lights over the lake thanks to a solar storm! Hot tub was amazing. Views were amazing! John and Steven made sure we had everything we needed for an awesome stay.

We had an amazing stay here! The house was very clean and highly accommodating. We appreciated the welcome snacks and notes, making us feel right at home. We had everything we needed and more. The location is great, we even walked our dog around the neighborhood safely. The sunsets here are incredible and the mornings are quiet and peaceful. You’ll want to spend more time here than out and about! This was a first vacation home rental for two people in our group who typically opt for hotels with room service and they were impressed and felt comfortable. Don’t second guess staying here!

A Peaceful Haven

We had an amazing week at Hammarstrom House! The property was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described, but the highlight was the unique lighthouse-esque tower—such a charming and unexpected feature that gave the place extra character. We enjoyed watching sunset from the tower swing and battling it out on the retro arcade games. We spent our evenings relaxing by the fire pit, and the hot tub was a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. The location was also ideal, close to Sturgeon Bay but still peaceful and quiet. Our hosts Steven and John were fantastic—quick to respond and ensured we had everything we needed and more. They couldn’t have been more welcoming & thoughtful. We highly recommend staying here. We would love to return!

Hammarstrom House

My family (6 adults and 1 eleven year old) enjoyed five wonderful days in this comfortable, spacious and unique home on the lake. The owners made every effort to provide a welcoming and accommodating experience for us all - including the dog. We settled in easily. This is a beautiful spot on the water that gives the opportunity for fun and quiet relaxation. We had a great time!

First and hopefully not our last trip to Sturgeon Bay

This experience and property was beyond compare to any other stay for our family. We felt more than “at home”. We felt comfortably pampered and had all we needed to enjoy activities on the water or nearby golf courses and then relax back at home with all the amenities, plus room for everyone (including a dog) to be comfortable.

Perfect weekend getaway with friends!

We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it was a blast! It was a “survivor themed” weekend and this location is perfect to play outdoor games, hide immunity idols, and relax in the hot tub after a full day of activities. We also enjoyed exploring Door County and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place that has literally everything you could ask for. The hosts are sweet and respond instantly. The view from the tower is also beautiful; the pictures don’t do justice!

Perfect Door Cty Getaway

What a perfect getaway for families! Easy access to the bay, fun water toys, a pristine hot tub, and perfectly-placed fire pit made this a great location for our family reunion -- and that was only the outdoor amenities! All beds were comfortable and the bathrooms full of fluffy towels and other amenities. The tower is truly a fun feature to enjoy the outstanding views. Thank you to the homeowners for making us feel welcomed. Extra touches like spa sandals, generous snack tray, and local goodies (including amazing cheese!) were the cherries on top of a wonderful getaway.

Wonderful stay in Door County

We stayed at the Hammarstrom house for a long weekend family vacation. The house was so comfortable, warm and inviting. Everyone in the family loved it. There were so many hospitality amenities that you do not really see in other homes. There were plenty of places to sleep and all the rooms were decorated nicely. The property sits on the bay so there were pretty views from almost every room. The hosts, Steven and John, were wonderful to work with. They were so approachable with questions and responded quickly. Even when they themselves were traveling, they were so accessible and quick to respond. I cannot say enough positive things about them and the home they share.

Quiet location, comfortable house, fun ammenities

Steven and John's house had everything that was promised. The welcoming atmosphere with personalized notes to the family and our four-legged companion were nice touches to start our stay. They also provided a nice array of snacks on the kitchen island for arrival and whenever the urge to grab a snack occurred. While we didn't utilize the well stocked "honor bar", but it was a nice option to have should we have been interested in making a cocktail. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated the provided towels and flip-flops (although we decided to bring our own) for our evening relaxation. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't as cooperative, with wind, rain and snow, so we had some of our planned hot tub relaxation time cut short. Instead, we picked up some additional firewood and enjoyed some cozy evening fires. The attention to detail for a pleasant stay was evident in the introduction letter, and the special touches for adults, pets, and kids throughout the house. There were plenty of dishes, glasses, and kitchen items to make it easy to cook and serve meals, as well as miscellaneous items throughout the house (such as scissors, pens, notepads and a stapler) to meet the needs of travelers spending time with their families. Lastly, the tower brings out the child in everyone, as it doubles as a cozy place to watch the sun set and feel like a kid as you climb the spiral staircase to the upper level.

Perfect Stay

Steven and John’s house was everything and more. The cabin itself is beautiful and incredibly cozy, with so many thoughtful touches left out for us by our hosts. Waking up to the sounds of the lake and ending each night by the wood fireplace made for the perfect winter escape. I would highly recommend the Hammarstrom House to everyone.

Family Reunion
