Beautiful resort in a beautiful area.
Ease of check in, continental breakfast a little light, but always stocked, quiet
Seclusion mainly good price
We liked how quiet the surrounding area was, no traffic noise, and no neighbors noise. It was a very comfortable and clean place to stay, and if we visit Southern Door County again, we would be happy to stay at Cherry Hills Lodge. We liked how they did the breakfast with individual juice and milk containers, and individual cereal and muffins, and how hand sanitizer was available in common areas. All staff wore masks. There is a view of golf course and surrounding trees from every room. I wish there were more nearby restaurants, as the ones we used had limited menus during Covid.
A little out of the way. But very quiet area. Golf course on property, which was nice
Wonderfully friendly staff....Awesome fish fry Friday (perch 😋) and great sandwiches and salads....ooooooo and the SHRIMP!!! Rooms were clean, spacious and quiet! Beautiful scenery out the balcony! N
Excellent staff John and his team top notch. Good location for everything and golf to boot. Nothing negative at all great little operation with trained professionals!
Good location very accommodating staff. Hotel was clean rooms were comfortable.
It was very peaceful and had a lovely view of the golf course! We enjoyed the seclusion. However, the handicap accessibility that I require was very much lacking in both the hotel and our room. It was difficult for me to function and move around, especially in the bathroom.
It was peaceful and the staff was great so was the management
You go out of your room and you are ready for golf
It was an Orchard in the woods. Glad we found it and will stay again.
TV was blurry. Hotel overall needs updating (paint, carpet, etc.) Maid service only on request. Breakfast was available at correct times but was only continental style. Price was way too high for this.
My family and I came up from Illinois to stay for a weekend and did not know what to expect. We arrived extremely late and John the owner stayed up and waited for us to arrive. The staff was very friendly and informative of the area around them. Breakfast was fresh and plenty with a beautiful porch overlooking the golf course to dine or just have a cup of coffee or tea. We enjoyed our stay and had perfect weekend weather, we extended our stay an additional night.
Loved our room, with balcony overlooking the golf course. Very reasonable rates, nice continental breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Free bucket of balls for driving range and only $15 for 18 holes and a cart, if you stayed there. So happy to discover this lodge during a shortage of motel rooms with the tall ships arriving at Sturgeon Bay on Aug. 3!! A hidden gem...
While the rate was attractive for the busy Door County peninsula, this is a dated property that has not been well maintained and clearly not well financed. The carpet in the room was soiled, especially in the bathroom area, and our sheets had chocolate stains and appeared not to be washed (my wife also found hair in the sheets). The front desk is not staffed in the evening or overnight - and the exterior doors are not locked at night. While this seems like a sleepy place, unlocked exterior doors and no staff around is kind of scary (a little sign on the front desk says to call a phone number and someone will come).
