I spent seven nights at the Westin Frenchman's Reef. I met some of the friendliest groups of staff members I have encountered in all my travels, and that is at least two vacations per year for the last ten years. 5.5 out of 5 STARS to them all, front front-desk, wait staff, housekeepers, door person, and the maintenance man who assisted in carrying heavy bags down the stairs. The Frenchman Reef is a pretty place on a gorgeous waterfront property. On the other hand, I was caught off guard, and my experience went downhill. This was because of the outrageous amount I had to pay, in addition to the price I paid Orbitz for a package, which was $4424 for airfare, a double room, and an ocean view room. This is my second day back from St Thomas VI, and I came up with roughly an additional $ 3,866 I spent in the seven days there. Not counting Daily Cash tips for the excellent staff we encountered. On the first day there, we went to the restaurant Luna Mar; this cost $156 for two, one appetizer and two meals. (A bottle of water was $10.00.) For principle, we began drinking tap water from then on. This additional three-thousand-dollar plus included a $75-dollar-per-day resort fee, two excursions, food at the hotel and off, and a taxi fair when lunch and dinner at the Frenchman got boring. The first three days we spent at the hotel on food alone was $750 (including $75 per day for resort fees and one excursion).
