The hotel was nice and room in good condition. The issue was the hotel staff and service. Our first night there going to dinner at the main buffet restaurant we finish our entire meal before even being offered water wasnt until I turned the cup upside down and held it up in the air to catch the waiters attention were we offered water. The dinning room waste even busy simply every other guess was more important to even greet us. The second night was a similar disappointment at least we were greeted and given water we order drinks from the bar but they were not good, asking the waiter for sparkling water instead was an inconvenience to the waiter. Third night we tried the steak house and waited patiently 2 hours for a medium new york strip steak. Need less to say our steaks where not medium, we waited so long we miss all the activiries for the night. The hotel is beutiful and the fun team were nice made friends with them, the chef greeted us one morning and I made one suggestion about the breakfast and the next day notice he took my advice, ai liked that. But the wait staff is completely un hospitable.

We loved it there! Great room, beautiful beach, large pools. Great buffet restaurant! And the friendliest staff ever! One little note: If you have mobility issues be aware the beach has a slope that can make it tricky to get out of the water unassisted and the toilets are quite low.

Shower was all around with mold!! Staff should focus on hospitality and not stupid paperwork to purchase a bottle of wine or ordering a second piece of chicken for lunch!! Got thrown away at check out at 11am and refused for a late check out knowing flight is at 7pm.Beach is great but homeless dog will harass you and dont makes it alright for all these nonsense!!

- Majority of the staff were very polite, courteous and attentive - Drink availability was a plus - The daily entertainment was amazing. - It would be nice to have entertainment on the beach if all possible. - My Butler service was good and available as needed. - Rooms were mediocre at best, but cleaned everyday and housekeeping made a conscious effort to visit throughout the day. Well ran resort, would recommend upgraded rooms. - I paid for the walk out pool, but did not enjoy the pool and did not get my money worth due to the water temperature was below the beach water temperature. In addition, the location of the walkout pull was covered by the shade. In addition, there was no view of the scenery of the land, water or island. - During breakfast not too many meat options - Overall experience was good, though I did not get my money worth out of the room.

We arrived and the system was down due to a power outage, preventing us from checking in. We were then not given the room we ordered (2 queens vs 1 king) - we were told it was because the hotel was full which we understood! However - we then had cockroaches in our room (I have photos of these) which prompted us to request a room change. We had to wait another day due to the hotel being full and the staff were unapologetic start to finish, and we lost two days to my wife being incredibly distressed from the cockroaches When we were eventually moved, our room was ready late and our bags were left locked in our old room - I had to get a staff member and use find my airpods to eventually get our bags back. I would definitely come back to Antigua but I would never return to the Royalton. There are a few absolutely stellar staff members - Shauntay in particular was incredible. I never once met an impolite butler (We weren't in diamond but you still meet them all around) or an impolite groundskeeper - they would always smile and say hi. Almost every staff member made us feel like our presence was an imposition, and we are not really big 'complainers' so we just sort of put up with it, but the feeling that we were not wanted just soured the whole experience.
