Continent location for the downtown dock. Comfortable beds however, we were in rooms 13 & 14 and there was the sound of running water like and like someone was sloshing around in a bath ALL night. No one slept well due to the noise. Breakfast was quick and convenient self serve. Brewery food was great and no noise from the bar or patrons late at night.

Great little getaway

Its an older hotel abut we enjoyed it. . Staff are great, our room was clean and comfortable and quiet. Would definitely go again. Also we were happy to go to the pub...good beer and friendly people there too

All staff were accommodating. It was a convenient place as it was close and within walking distance to town. The only thing we didn't like was that they required a $100 deposit for damage. They gave us a visa receipt for the $100 but when we left they would not give us a credit receipt for the $100. They said oh you will see it on your visa when you get it.

Great location and views of the Chief. Clean room, nice layout with a daybed by the window in addition to the queen. Small bathroom. Hallway was a bit noisy, not great noise insulation - but you can't hear the restaurant/pub downstairs so that's a win. Would stay again.

Room was a bit smaller than expected for the price. The only reason I mentioned “noise” was because the sound of running/gurgling water was constant (not intermittent or occasional, but constant). I sourced the sound to plumbing (probably a main drain pipe located behind drywall) located just inside the door of my room (#3). The occupants of the neighbouring room mentioned the same sound could be heard in their room. Likely a costly repair (solution) with sound insulation, which is probably why the owner hasn’t addressed it. The free continental breakfast (located in the hall outside the elevator) can be described as the bare minimum to meet the definition (expectations) of a continental breakfast. You can read similar reviews about the noisy plumbing and “bare minimum” breakfast in other reviews where the overall ratings were low.

Pleased to have some breakfast options now. Room clean. Staff very good. I arrived in Squamish early, contacted reception, there was no room ready at that time, totally understood as I was three hours early but within 15 minutes I received a callback, without me requesting one, to say there was a room available. So appreciative as it was a cold and rainy day. Thanks for going a step above and taking the time to help out a client. Well done to the lady on reception September 6th.

Second visit

So, this is the second time I have stayed there, whilst visiting my sister. Let me start by saying that the rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need, and housekeepig look after them very well. The only problem I would say is how dark they are inside - and also because I had been in the 'back' rooms last time I had asked for the front rooms but she put me at the back again. Another good thing is that this time, they provided breakfast - which was welcomed, even though I felt it wasn't very sustainable having everything wrapped in small packets, and having papers plates, bowls and wooden cutlery. It is more sustainable to use pottery and metal and wash it. My one gripe about the Howe Sound is the reception one gets - or does not. Apart from one female member of staff downstairs, noone seems to care whether you come or go, or appreciate the fact that you are a customer. You just pay your money, get you key and come and go. I know it isn't the main part of the business, but I don't understand the lack of interest.The first time I visited, there was a flood and we had to move to another hotel. Noone ever said or wrote sorry, or compensated for the inconvenience, we were just told to go to another hotel, and noone bothered taking anyone there. That is a lasting memory in my head, and I had hoped there would be a change this time and reception staff would at least engage with their customers from 'upstairs'. There's one more problem but no space here to write it!

Property was good and clean, staff very friendly. Very disappointed with breakfast, advertised as continental breakfast but consisted of very little, and if you were later than 8 am (7:30-10 times stated) there was nothing suitable unless you want cookies donuts, cartons of juice, some cereal boxes but no milk left, no hot water and no teabags only coffee in room, no drinking water. Very disappointing. Staff were very helpful so that was appreciated. Seems manager thought it was a good idea to have food left in hallway on a table rather than in restaurant. I was not alone in thinking how poor this was.
