Our recent stay at Villa Umah Maya was absolutely wonderful. The traditional villa is situated opposite the popular Corner House and down a small lane off Eat Street. Considering the busy but perfect location, the villa is quiet and peaceful. My husband and I travelled with our 2 teenage daughters and despite my initial reservations about the lane we felt so safe and secure at all times. The villa itself was beautifully clean and had everything we could possibly need including a water dispensing machine which was great. Upon check in we were met by the lovely Emy who greeted us with welcome drinks and a tour of the villa. There were fresh flowers and a fresh bowl of fruit. The pool was just heaven, big, clean and a good temperature for cooling off. There was good air-conditioning in all the bedrooms but obviously due to the open design of the villa it was warm in the main areas and bathrooms but we didn't find it bad at all. The only couple of things that could be deemed negative (but didn't really bother us to be honest) were:
1) power went out a fair bit but we were told that this is going to be looked at
2) aside from the housekeeper there were a few people that turned up unexpectedly such as the pool man, gardener (twice) and some electricians/maintenance men. All in all a lovely place to stay to stay and unwind.
