The home is really clean and you can tell it's recently been updated to have all the creature comforts you need. I cam with a group of friends (three adults) and one of our dogs to compete at HITS. It was a perfect driving location from HITS, easy 12-15mins depending on the route, and such a pleasure to return to after a long day outdoors & horseback riding. There is no air conditioning in the bedrooms, but I doubt that often is missed-there were fans and cracking windows was enough to keep the temperature comfortable. We did not use the kitchen much but it was stocked with essentials and even came with coffee. The rooms had very comfortable bedding and mattresses. The outdoor screened porch was lovely to relax on. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The standard mid-century ranch exterior belies the sort of euro-mod vibe that lies within. The bed linens were fresh and cozy, the mattresses are brand spanking new and have great support. The white ash floors are gorgeous, and the kitchen is well-laid out. We were just a party of two, but the way things are set up, there's plenty of room for a larger group. Even though much of the cottage has been updated, I did love the tip of the hat to the things that are vintage - especially the paneling in the TV room and main suite. The views of Overlook Mountain from the dining table are so beautiful. Plus, the cottage is about mid-way between Woodstock and Saugerties, so it's a great location. If you have dogs (we do), you couldn't ask for a better road to walk them on. Nice and level, with lots of pretty trees to look at. Further down the road are some goats; further down still are some cows. Our dogs thought they'd died and gone to heaven, but if you have little ones, I imagine the goats and cows would be a plus for them, too.
