to begin with, we were greeted by a lovely host named Josh who was so welcoming and accommodating as he checked us in, offering us complementary wine and cookies and suggestions for nearby walkable restaurants and attractions not to be missed. the property is quiet and quaint just a half block from the beachfront with ample off street parking just below the rooms or safe street parking if capacity is full. our room was modernly decorated and well appointed with a mini fridge, microwave and even tea kettle which is rarely found these days in rooms. although we didn’t need to use it, the fireplace was a nice additional feature to see. we will definitely keep Blue Sands saved as a favorite to return to should we find ourselves in Santa Barbara again!

Room was clean, modern, cozy and updated. This was a basic hotel/motel situation but with an elevated experience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and you are greeted with a glass of wine and freshly baked cookies. The property is an old 60s like apartment building with a pool in the center. I did not use the pool but it looked clean and well maintained. I stayed in an overnight business trip and I was comfortable, cozy and felt safe as a woman traveling alone. The entire property was quiet and within close walking distance to the beach. A quick drive to restaurants and State street. Parking convenience is a huge plus. I highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay in Santa Barbara, the room was comfortable and clean. Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff was friendly. I enjoyed a nightly glass or 2 of wine, compliments of the front desk. I was hoping for a fireplace as I thought the room I was booking came with one but unfortunately, it didn’t have one. The kitchen was a great bonus and was stocked with tea, coffee and water.
