We stayed at Frangipani Beachfront Villa and wanted to share a few observations for future guests. The area of Rolleville is beautiful and off the beaten path, with a nice beach nearby.The owner was very responsive and helpful, providing referrals for local activities and offering concierge-style assistance like grocery delivery and airport pickup. Because of that, we felt a 5 star rating for host communication was deserved.That said, the beachfront is not private as described. There is a public access road along the property line, and people frequently drove or parked there, sometimes blocking the beach view. Two broken-down boats near the beach also partially blocked the path and view. We were approached on the porch by a local who rents kitesurfing equipment, and the interaction felt rude and intrusive. He told us where to park instead of contacting the owner. Had we been informed about the public access, this unpleasant interaction could have been avoided.Inside, the kitchen had persistent ants, requiring all food to be stored in the fridge. Some pantry items were overrun and had to be discarded. Cabinets also needed a deeper cleaning, and the microwave was not working, making it difficult to heat food.The villa and surrounding area are beautiful, and we hope this review helps future guests plan accordingly.
