Staff was very friendly. The dive shop staff was very helpful and accommodating. The resort is tucked away in a quiet jungle setting on one of the best beaches on Roatan. The room was adequate and comfortable for what I needed for a week of diving.

I thought it had a pool, but it didn’t and on the pictures online It looks like it has a pool. That was a big thing as we were expecting one…The AC in the living room was not working, but they were really quick and fixed it right away. They had a fire show that day in the afternoon but nobody had announced it and we left to do something else and we came back it was over. We missed the whole thing. if we would’ve known, we probably stayed! Lack of communication to customers. I did love the happy hour hour! Overall, location was great. I would stay there again although I wish they had a pool so that’s gonna make me think twice.

This is wonderful for what it is, a rustic beach stay. Pros: The location is amazing. The staff were amazing! Loved to secluded feel and enjoyed the hammocks and watching the humming birds. Walk to everything in just a few minutes. What it is not: This is not a resort with luxury linens and a polished feel. Think of your great uncles old and comfy summer cabin, the sink maybe chipped, there’s no tvs and it’s just basic accommodations. With all that we loved it! My teen boys said they would stay there over a posh resort any day and I agree.

Great no frills, comfy, safe and lively hotel!

This was my first trip to Roatan and I was on a budget. I did a lengthy research on different hotel booking sites and Bananarama consistently had good reviews. I was not looking for a luxury hotel, just a place that was clean, safe, with good service and right in-front of the beach. Bananarama Resort definitely delivered. I loved the no-frills, relaxed environment and vibe. My room (#7) had two beds in two separate areas giving it a mini apt feel, it was clean, comfy and AC worked perfectly (also a ceiling fan in each room). Bathroom was a decent size, with hot water. There was a sewer kind of smell at times and I solved it by covering the sink and shower holes with towels, also kept the toilet seat down. Not the best issue for a hotel to have, I know, but I think it’s across the area because I went to the fanciest hotel in West Bay (Kimpton) a few times to enjoy some guest passes and their bathrooms had the same sewer smell. Best part of Bananarama is their staff: receptionist, waiters, bartenders, etc. They are so warm, welcoming and helpful. Bartender Jose prepped killer piña coladas for me every single day, and my son loved the pancakes, burgers and pizza (so good). They prep traditional Honduran food too and it was delicious. The beach is right at the front and it was just gorgeous! If you’re looking for a relaxed, chill resort but safe for you and your family, stay at Bananarama!

This was our first time to Roatan and after reading tons reviews we settled on Banarama. We were so happy we did we loved everything! We barely wore shoes of any kind all week we were so close to the beach it was amazing. The breakfast was super great, the bar was fun, pizza was incredible and everything we ate from the cook was delicious and perfect. I would describe it as “lodgey”. The room was Small but clean and cleaned everyday. The fridge was super cold and having the fresh water and sink and microwave and coffee pot in our room was Awesome. Walking distance to several little stores and coffee shops and tons on restaurants up and down the beach. The water was crystal clear and we saw tons of starfish in the water right out front of the resort. We will definitely be back!

We had a few things wrong with our room at check in. They also asked for $16 more for a fee they said Expedia didn't pay. Our coffee pot was broken. Our safe was broken. The whole room needs some TLC. Over all our stay was very nice. They could use a place to sit in all the rooms . Ours had no chairs. We had to drag the rocking chairs in every night to sit on other than the bed. They did a fantastic job of cleaning and food was delicious. They did bring me another coffee pot and had to give us a key to the safe to use it. So I would go back , but chose a different room. One with table and chairs
