Room was not very clean and the lighting was poor. The property felt old and pieced together. The water had a distinct sulfur smell which made it unpleasant. Have stayed in Reykjavik many times and this is not a property that I will frequent again.

Nice central hotel. Pleasant staff great location. The breakfast service was very good with plenty of choice and looser ice was smooth even at busy times. However not sure why the modern trend is to deny privacy on the loo. Much as I love my travel companion not sure I want to hear all their full bodily functions. The door was glass and not fitted to a door frame so privacy was minimal. Surely a hotel of this calibre could do better.

The hotel itself was really good. It was in the city center, within walking distance of most landmarks, and if not, there was really good public transport. The hotel was clean. The view from the window was amazing (I guess it depends on the side of the room, but ours was perfect), and it was really quiet despite a lot of guests. The staff was really nice and helpful. Breakfast could have been a little bit better for a 4-star hotel, but really, I can't complain. Despite limited variety, it was good and tasty. The mattress was a little bit hard for me, but I understand all people have different preferences, so you can't please everyone. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay.
