The food is absolutely vile. Just inedible. Staff gave me wrong info and were then rude about it. Parts of the resort are kind of run down. The pools are decent, as is the beach.

First of all this is a Members only hotel. If you are not a member you cannot eat at any of the restaurants that require a reservation. It says to reserve at 9:00 am with a QR code and every time we tried they were full. The service at the front desk was horrible. Only 1 person for a line full of people complaining about rooms and food. If you reserve through Expedia, they treat you differently and give you the worse rooms. The beds are hard as a rock and we also found roaches in the bathroom. Never again will I stay in this hotel. Worse experience in my life. The only thing my kids liked was the service at the kids club that’s it. DO NOT STAY HERE

The good: This is an amazing resort for young children with an excellent kids program and an extraordinary water park. The grounds are meticulously cared for, very clean and the staff is exceptional. They work hard and are polite and helpful. Needs: Though the rooms are clean, they are very dated to the point of being shabby. Throughout the resort you can see peeling paint and missing roof tiles. We did see some painting being done. Pools are nice but very busy. Though signs on the chairs say no reserving, people drape towels over chairs. This would be okay if it was one towel per chair, but there often was one towel claiming two or three chairs. So it seems like people claim chairs at both pool and beach this way. The beach is nice but very busy. Many locals also are using the beach which is okay except that we more than once noticed them using the chairs (not hotel patrons). Overall our biggest complaint was the loudness of the music everywhere. The people that work there must be going deaf from the volume! There is no need for it to be so loud and it was difficult to get away from it and find a somewhat quieter space.

Property is old and overpriced. It was hard to get a reservation for the restaurants. Staff were unfriendly the whole stay was horrible. I do not recommend it.

Our stay at Crown Paradise Club Puerto Vallarta was very disappointing from arrival onward. Our first room had visible black mold, broken air conditioning, cockroaches, several non-working lights, no safe, and an alley view. When we asked to be moved (not upgraded), staff told us we would have to pay. When we explained we were only asking for a habitable room, the staff member shook his head and walked away. Another staff member slid a key card across the counter and told us to “see if it was good enough.” The second room was at least safe, so we accepted it. Customer service throughout the stay was often rude and dismissive, with very limited English spoken. We were even told that unless you are clearly wearing Canadian apparel, guests are assumed to be American and not wanted. The beach is beautiful but overwhelmed by aggressive vendors (10–15 at all times). Security claimed they could not intervene unless touched, yet vendors later poked and prodded guests anyway. Sea-Doos repeatedly drove through the swimming area. When a guest with children asked one rider to move for safety, he yelled “Do you want me to get out of my own country?” and sped off dangerously close to swimmers. Restaurant reservations were nearly impossible, lines were long (40 minutes for buffet, 20 for bars), and billing issues occurred with room service charges being attempted twice. Positives: Michael and one other staff member were excellent, Club Nitro shows were great, and early morning pool hours.
