Overall I thought for the money it was a solid resort, & the staff genuinely seem to care that guests are enjoying their stay. Everyone was friendly & helpful. The only 2 points of improvement I thought were needed is: 1) The room was a bit dated & had several items needing maintenance. Ex. leaking faucet, broken shower curtain rod, sliding door curtain, tiles. 2) Myself & several other guests were disappointed that the resort advertises 4-5 restaurants but there really is not. The "Mole Taco" & "The Fish House" you need reservation tickets to go into them. On average people who stay a week get 2 passes. So your forced to have the buffet each night & on 2 nights you can have dinner in one of the 2 restaurants. That in my opinion is wrong I have stayed in several other resorts All inclusive resorts in Mexico & have never seen that before. A reservation is understandable for crowding reasons but limiting the number of chances to eat there is false advertising.

We lived our stay at the Melia dues to its location and customer service. We enjoy going to town to experience meals and culture and the hotel was within walking distance of the Marina, which has great food options and several bars. We also booked our fishing excursions through Jesus along the marina. The food was okay-not great, but not terrible. There were plenty of options to choose from. Customer service was amazing! Everyone was super kind and friendly, and went above and beyond to meet our needs. The rooms were clean, roomy and every room had an ocean view. There is a great pool and also a small beach on property. We would definitely recommend the Hotel Melia and will probably stay here again if we come back to puerto Vallarta.

Do not purchase items from the gift shop. They are way over priced. around the corner and up a block is the entrance to the Marina. There are shops, restaurants, pharmacies, etc and they are more reasonably priced. Otherwise, the resort is wonderful!

We spent a week January 18-January 25 in this beautiful hotel Melia in Puerto Vallarta. It is such a great place to spend time with the family ( we travelled with 2 kids: 2.5 and 4.5) so quite and relaxed. Very clean facilities and amazing choices for food, loved the entertainment both for kids and adults! The Stuff was so friendly, welcoming and accommodating all the needs. As much as we liked the iguanas, i think the chairs next to the pool under the huge tree, should be removed, as we witnessed few times those large iguanas fell down from the tree directly under, luckily there was noone at the time in the chair.

The rooms are dingy and sparse. I was supposed to have a garden view but it was blocked by trees. Beds are only okay. The shower didn't drain properly and I was standing in six inches of water that had brown scum in it. My friends said the same thing about their showers. Some of the food was good but the majority was inedible. The 2 restaurants were good but if you didn't have reservations your only option is the buffet. The only good thing at the buffet was the pasta bar. The first day I was there I stepped out of the pool and took a hard fall when my foot flew out from underneath me when I stepped onto the red terracotta tiles. When I fell, some of the guests told me that those tiles are very slippery. Why in the world would there be slippery tiles around a pool! The hotel sent me to their hotel Dr which turned out to be a young lady that asked me a few questions and prescribed an anti-imflamatory which made me extremely nauseated and very dizzy. I sprained my knee, sprained my hips, and broke a toe. I spent 3 days of my vacation in my room. I had asked for some ice and they brought me one bag that leaked. I was told that they would call to see how I was doing and if I needed anything, which didn't happen.The restaurants don't allow any food to be taken out so my friends couldn't bring me anything to eat while I was in my room. The men that I reported my fall to saw me limping through the rest of my vacation and totally ignored me. I am very disappointed with the hotel!

The grounds were beautiful and fabulous views. Public bayhrooms were small and need more garbages. Very clean though. Overall nice resort. Food was ok but not outstanding I would definitely stay there again as it is beautiful and clean.
