Christmas in Mexico

The condo was clean and had beautiful views of the pool and water. We enjoyed the rooftop plunge pool in the evenings as well. It is right in the middle of all activities making it easy to walk everywhere which we prefer. It’s a very busy and crowded area and as described, the music goes until 3-4 am. You must be ok with this or else sleep can be difficult. The pool is lovely but reserve your chairs early. There is no private beach near or around this condo. In our option, the surrounding beaches were not useable due to crowds and people selling things.

Summer vacation 2024

Another amazing vacation for our family. We enjoyed our stay in Reef 204. Great location, everything is very close to this place. Amazing condominiums, very nice pool and beautiful beach! Our condo was in the second floor with a great view to the pool and the beach. The unit is a great size for our family of 4. Both rooms have their AC units and theain room as well. Comfy beds, plenty of pillows, towels, beach towels. All 3 smart TV's working..Kitchen has an electric stove, dishwasher, fridge, the main microwave is not working but they have a spare. Blender, toaster and small coffee maker. Plenty dishes and cups. Walmart grocery store is in walking distance... everything is in walking distance! BTW, PDC don't do UBER. Overall, we had a great time, enjoyed the stay, the unit has everything you need. Shout out to the front desk team and the rest of their personnel they are awesome. Definitely we would like to come back!

Excellent location, excellent accommodations

I was a little apprehensive about booking a VRBO in a foreign country due to negative experiences expressed in social media. My apprehension was not valid when it came to this property. The location is prime, we were in the middle of the action. We felt safe walking around at different times of day and night. The property has a large pool and is beachfront. Beach is public but there is security around and they ensure that only guests enter pool area and the complex. Condo had everything we needed except for a couple of items (salt and bath mats) but we made it work. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. We would definitely stay in the property again. Saving up for my next visit to PDC.

Couples Vacation at El Faro was Great!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Faro. Checking was easy and management was communicative. The location couldn’t be any better and you have easy access to absolutely everything. We loved how cold the AC was during a very hot time in playa Del Carmen. The one thing they could improve on is the mattresses on both beds as they are very firm, and a little hard which made the extended stay a little difficult to sleep well. Now in our 40’s, we all were a little sore from the bed by the second day. Other than that we have no complaints and absolutely loved our stay, and will return again.

Great stay at El Faro in Playa del Carmen!

We couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience staying at this property. Communication before arrival was excellent and the check-in process was a breeze. The property itself is in a great location and the condo was very clean and well-maintained. I would highly recommend and would be happy to book again for any future visits to PDC!

Amazing place and convenient!

We had a wonderful time at El Faro. It was so close to everything, and right on a beach! There’s a nice restaurant/bar that has great food and drinks, right next to this place. Super easy walk to anything you could want! No need for car. We came to Playa Del Carmen first, then to Cozumel and lastly Isle Mujeres. We loved all the places but our family voted PDC our #1 due to convenience and tons of things to do. The place itself was great. Awesome pool, beach….the staff was SUPER. And I mean SUPER FANTASTIC. Try it for yourself I’m sure you’ll love it too. Thanks so much for the memories.

Can't beat location

The location was perfect...on the beach and only 2 blocks to 5th ave. The actual view was even better than the pictures. The beach bar next door was the start of every evening for us. We plan to stay there again.

A nice stay!

The grounds of this property are so well kept! The pool, beach and common areas were clean and beautiful! You can’t beat the location - 1 block from 5th Avenue & walking distance to ferry & bus. The room was good…It could definitely have been cleaned better. There were chips/cheese balls on the floor by the fridge, and on day 1 I spilled a little water and when I went to wipe it up with a paper towel, it was brown/dirty. The unit is definitely in need of updating. Bedding/sheets/pillows are old, utensils need to be replaced. Headboard in 2nd bedroom is falling apart. A/C in primary room did not work well; was more like a fan (no cold air like the others) and the primary room had a smell of mildew from day 1. Also, suggest the owners leave a broom and mop (cleaning supplies) of some kind so renters can clean as needed as we were there for 6 nights and the unit does not provide any housekeeping until after a full week. Due to the humidity, the marble floors get wet and slippery and it would be nice to mop them up, as well as clean on the regular. Plan to do laundry if you’re staying a long time so you can clean towels as there’s not room service until after a full week as mentioned above. It’s really easy as the laundry room is just downstairs. View from balcony cannot be beat! Gorgeous sunrises and views of the moon over the water at night. Overall, not a bad unit to stay in but I would not say it’s 5 stars. Regardless, we had the best time in PDC!

Location, location, location!

El Faro Residences is located so close to 5th Ave and other beach bars & restaurants. We were in the heart of everything & could walk everywhere. Our unit was exactly as described. There was a race each morning to get a pool chair, however we always seemed to find what we needed. I would recommend El Faro as a safe & well appointed place to stay in Playa del Carmen.

Great Beach Condo

This property was in a great location! Just off 5th and right on the beach! We stayed with another couple and this was a perfect home base for us. Great view of the sunrise every morning, from the deck, which over looks the pool and the ocean. The cleaning prior to our arrival could have been better. The second bedroom headboard needs to be replaced, we provided that info to the property manager, so I'll assume they'll take care of that (although not during our stay). Other than that, the place was perfect. The layout was great in the Condo (bedrooms separated by bathrooms). Would have been nice for the second bed to be a King or Queen as well (but we knew it was a double when we booked). There were usually loungers available by the pool or beach. The beach was rough most days but if you can get in the sand is gorgeous and it's shallow enough to walk far out. The Circle K store just by the front entrance actually has cheap prices for beer (shout out to Dennis from Kelowna who stays most of the year for all his tips). Massage available poolside and it's well worth it. They have a price list of options. (Thanks Maria!!) We had lots of drinking water supplied and we would definitely book again!

Amazing location

The location of the building is fantastic. Half a block to 5th avenue where all the restaurants and shops are located. There are security guards at the entrance to the building as well as around the grounds and at the beach - so you always feel safe. The condo has everything you need along with a spectacular view to watch the sunrise each day. Great pool...we are looking forward to returning.

Nice stay at El Faro!

Very nice, clean, and comfortable property on the beach! My family and I enjoyed our time here. The layout of the apartment was a little smaller than I thought it would be, but still very nice. Beware of street vendors who see you are wearing the El Faro yellow bracelet. They will try to tell you they met you there at the reception desk. Maybe El Faro will get rid of the bracelets like some of the all-inclusive resorts are doing in the future. Otherwise I definitely recommend this place!
