Summary:
The Rockstar is a one-of-a-kind Pioneertown retreat on 17 private desert acres, where bold design and a playful spirit meet wide-open mountain views. Spin records, challenge friends to foosball, soak in the hot tub, or gather around the fire beneath the stars. With custom furnishings, a cool-dip cowboy tub, and a separate casita, this is a place to enjoy good company, a little solitude, and the freedom of having the desert almost entirely to yourself.
The Space:
The Rockstar has the personality of a creative hideaway rather than a conventional desert home. Behind its dark exterior, you'll find an eclectic mix of leather furnishings, rugged natural wood, polished concrete floors, colorful artwork, and unexpected design details. Oversized windows frame the surrounding boulders and mountains, while custom lighting and thoughtfully collected pieces give every room its own character. It's a home that invites you to settle in, put on your favorite album, and enjoy being somewhere a little different.
The experience extends well beyond the house. Seventeen private acres offer room to wander, find a quiet spot among the rocks, or simply take in the landscape. Back at the house, the hot tub, outdoor gathering spaces, and fire pit make it easy to spend an entire day together without needing an itinerary. When you do feel like going out, Pioneertown and its famous Pappy & Harriet's are nearby.

-Outdoor Amenities-
With 17 acres of open desert surrounding The Rockstar, the landscape is as much a part of the stay as the house itself. Wander the property's trails, explore the rocky terrain, or find a place to sit and appreciate the mountain views. There's a remarkable sense of space here, especially as the afternoon light begins to change across the desert.
The outdoor gathering areas offer several ways to enjoy it. Spend a leisurely afternoon soaking in the hot tub, or take a refreshing dip in the cowboy tub during the warmer months. The cowboy tub is a small, five-foot, pill-shaped tub filled on demand for your stay, rather than a traditional swimming pool. It is drained and unavailable from November through March.
A shaded lounge, outdoor dining area, and propane grill make meals outside especially appealing. After dark, gather around the propane fire pit and enjoy the quiet of the surrounding landscape. The property is expansive and private, though the grounds are not fully fenced.
-Living Area-
The living room is where The Rockstar's personality really comes through. A generous leather sofa stretches beneath an oversized picture window overlooking the desert, complemented by vintage-inspired chairs, layered textiles, and an extraordinary natural wood coffee table. The combination feels relaxed, artistic, and comfortably lived-in.
Settle in with a book while the afternoon light fills the room, or turn on the gas fireplace as the evening cools. A record player, Bluetooth sound system, TV, foosball table, and collection of board games offer plenty of ways to spend time together. Whether you're sharing music, playing a few competitive rounds, or simply catching up, this is a room made for lingering.
-Kitchen and Dining-
The kitchen brings another playful dimension to the house, with a large island, bold custom lighting, colorful seating, and skateboard artwork that reflects The Rockstar's creative character. It's a natural gathering place, whether you're preparing a full dinner or keeping someone company while they cook.
The kitchen is equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster, blender, and kettle, along with cookware, dinnerware, and wine glasses. A pour-over coffee maker makes it easy to ease into the morning before heading outside.
Enjoy casual meals around the island or take dinner outdoors to the dining area, where the desert scenery provides a welcome change from the usual dinner table.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
The Rockstar has three bedrooms and three bathrooms in total, with two king bedrooms in the main house and a separate queen bedroom in the casita.
The primary bedroom features a king bed and private ensuite bathroom, offering a comfortable retreat from the shared living spaces. The second main-house bedroom also has a king bed, with access to a Jack-and-Jill-style bathroom shared with the main house.
Both rooms provide comfortable places to retreat after long days outdoors, while the separate casita creates additional flexibility for groups traveling together.
Families with young children will also appreciate the available crib, travel crib, and high chair.
-The Casita-
The third bedroom occupies its own casita, complete with a separate entrance, queen bed, and private ensuite bathroom.
This arrangement is particularly appealing for two couples traveling together, extended families, or friends who appreciate a little independence. Guests staying in the casita can enjoy their own space and morning routine while remaining close to the main house and all of its shared amenities.
