"I was traveling on a multi-country trip that included American Samoa, and chose the Tradewinds based on favorable reviews and proximity to the airport. The hotel was nice and the front desk staff very polite and helpful. Our room was spacious, but the furnishings fell short of expectations. Our experience was similar to a few other reviewers - worn mattresses that we sunk into, flat pillows and squeaky bed frames. The room rate included a continental breakfast which included toast, muffins, a little bit of fruit, coffee and tea. Unfortunately, there was NO service in the restaurant, and the few employees that were there did not greet us or check to see when items were running low or running out. We did not even bother to eat there on our second morning. I have no other experience with lodging in the country, so I don't know how Tradewinds compares to other places. All in all, I enjoyed the stay, while hoping things would improve in the furure."
