The room itself was adequate. Cinder block walls but functional and in a good location. The downside was the room was under the office and it sounded like it was being renovated upstairs. The work began very early in the morning and was very noticeable.

A good place to stay in Otorohanga near to Waitomo Caves. We stayed as a family and the two bedroom unit is quite functional, with enough towels and kitchen utensils provided for 5 people (bed #5 is in the living area, with 2 separate bedrooms). It's a beautiful semi-rural outlook at the back, with nice views, though steep - right on the side of a hill. Despite being on a highway it was beautifully quiet at night, and dark, with minimal light coming in which was a plus. Staff are friendly and helpful. But there are some shortcomings. The property is quite old - the key looks positively ancient, and it didn't feel all that secure. Sheets on the beds are too small and keep coming off - had to leave the heating on at night (which worked OK). The worst bit was the shower though - the floor is so slippery it's actually a hazard, several of us nearly slipped over in there. This definitely needs some attention.

We had a pleasant overnight stay. Very clean and efficient checkin. Value compared to metro accommodation is lacking, but in all a sound place to stop when visiting the area.

Requested room off the road and was accommodated. Room was very quiet and clean. Staff were super friendly, loaned us a steamer from their house. Kitchen was great, unit was roomy, could use a bit of updating but comfortable and convenient.

We had booked a Standard Suite, 1 Bedroom, Non Smoking, Kitchen (unit / twin) but when we checked in we were allocated a different room - A Premium Room 1 King. The person at reception told us that "Last Minute" had advised him that this was the room that we booked. He couldn't do anything about it and to take the matter up with "Last Minute". CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED? We had booked accommodation via "Last Minute" several times during the previous weeks without a problem. In addition We had to wash the dishes in the bathroom hand basin because there was no kitchenette sink. We also used the bathroom handbasin to fill the kettle but the kettle was difficult to fill because it did not fit properly under the tap. The glasses were dirty and they stuck to the inside of the cupboard The cutlery and cups were also dirty, we had to wash these ourselves before using them. The doona covered just covered the bed. Face washers were not supplied. The "last Minute" website advertised “Laundry Facilities” however there was no laundry, We were advised that the Hotel provided a laundry SERVICE and would do a our washing for $10.00.

Perfect for our needs. Nice to have pool on a hot day. Dated but comfortable. Would have been nice to have milk and ordinary teabags, only Earl Gray provided. Unfortunately very noisy people in unit next door, coming and going, very loud, until 4am. Would recommend
