Cozy Adirondack Cabin w/ Deck [~15 minutes to Gore Mountain]
*This is not a full-time vacation rental property, we as a family often spend our weekends/vacation time up at the cabin when guests are not booked*
**While we unfortunately do not allow our guests to bring their pets, we have family dogs that sometimes stay at the cabin with us. There is a cleaning service that comes between stays, but those with severe dog allergies may prefer to stay elsewhere**
THE CABIN ITSELF Our cabin has an open concept kitchen/living room area. The kitchen area has a 4 burner stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and a beautiful wooden trestle table. The living room area has a television (equipped with Roku), a secretary style desk, and comfortable seating (armchair, Adirondack style futon, rocking chair with foot rest). The highlight of the common area are two large windows that look out to a mountain view.
One bedroom has a full mattress and the other bedroom a bunk bed (top mattress is twin size, bottom mattress is full size). Additionally, the futon in the common area folds out into a full size mattress. Therefore, the cabin can physically sleep up to 6 adults (however the space is probably most comfortable for up to 4 guests).
Outside we have a large front deck with plenty of seats and a BBQ grill.
For those visiting us in the winter months, we have a carport to keep your vehicle snow free!
***The basement of the cabin is not a fully finished basement, please be mindful of this when staying at the cabin and going downstairs if choosing to use our washer and dryer for laundry***
IMMEDIATELY NEARBY OUTDOOR ACTIVITES Ski/Snowboarding: We are aboout a 15 minute drive to the entrance of Gore Mountain Ski & Recreation Area
Canoe/Kayaking: At the end of our road we have a public canoe launch into Minerva stream (10 minute walk, < 1 minute drive).
Hiking: We also have a NYS trailhead on our street (~5 minute walk) where you can do a day hike up to Sherman Pond (2.5 miles) or Stony Pond (4.0 miles).
Swimming & Other Outdoor Activities: During the summer months (mid-June to early September) Donnelly Beach is open at Minerva Lake (~5 minute drive) with an on-duty lifeguard and a snack stand that serves hot food. There are also basketball and tennis courts to enjoy, as well as a loop trail around the lake. During the winter months this area hosts an outdoor ice-skating rink and sled hill. You can also ice fish on the lake if you have your own equipment. This recreational area is operated by the Town of Minerva and open to the public for no charge.
CLOSEST COMMUNITIES: Hamlet of Olmstedville (~5 minute drive): If you need to quickly resupply on any essentials there is Sullivan's General Store open everyday (7am-7pm). Olmstedville is also home to the Owl at Twilight, a small fine dining restaurant (open seasonally). The food has always been very delicious, but service can sometimes be on the slower side.
Hamlet of North Creek (~15 minute drive): This is where Gore mountain is located. Your closest Tops Grocery store is here and a Walgreens pharmacy. We recommend Hey Days for Pizza and Izzy's Market & Deli for artisanal sandwiches. There's also a Stewarts Shops located here, open from 5am-midnight, so if you need snacks for an early morning hike or are craving a late night snack this would be your best bet as other places will be closed.
Hamlet of Schroon Lake (~20 minute drive): The hamlet of Schroon Lake is the largest of the nearby communities. You can find another Tops grocery store here. During the warmer months you can rent a motorboat for the day at the Schroon Lake Marina, and there is also a public beach for swimming. In town we recommend 9 Mile Coffee an awesome local coffee shop and the local Schroon Lake Department Store for gifts and Adirondack apparel.

Cafe Adirondack Restaurant (Pottersville, NY ~15 minute drive) -Another local restaurant with solid food and a decently large wine list for the north country. Options to put in a to-go order if their kitchen is not too busy. Just call ahead.
Main Street Ice Cream Parlor (Chestertown, NY ~25 minute drive) -Great throwback ice cream parlor that does breakfast and lunch
Paradox Brewery (North Hudson, NY ~30 minute drive) -Great craft brewery with occasional live music
Deli & Meat Store of the North (Warrensburg, NY ~35 minute drive) -Awesome deli/butcher shop. Grab some stuff to BBQ! Especially if your coming north on I-87 to get to the cabin, quick pitstop.

Very cozy cabin
We had such a nice stay! There was an issue with the heat when we checked in but the host called me back immediately and we got it worked out. Very nicely stocked with kitchen items for cooking. The cabin is so cozy and comfy. A nice location too.
The cabin was perfect for our needs. It was nice and remote enough with plenty to see within a half hour drive. We loved Gore Mt.!

Cozy cabin close to trails!
We had such a nice time staying at the cabin on a sunny but chilly fall weekend this October. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is spacious and has everything you need for preparing a meal, and the deck is so nice with plenty of seating. We had a great time heading to the recommended local coffee shop 9mile, getting pickles and fresh bread at the farmers market, cooking dinner at the cabin, having breakfast on the deck, hiking the trail right down the road (and finding so many cool mushrooms!), and watching movies in the living room. It was the perfect little weekend getaway. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We’ll be back!

Cozy Getaway
I came up here for a nice weekend getaway with some friends. Despite sitting in the middle of the Adirondacks, the house is in a great location for everything you might want, whether you're looking for peace & quiet or a quaint downtown area.
There are plenty of hiking and fishing spots nearby, but the town over is only a 15-minute drive, with a general store that's only 5 minutes for quick things. The house was quite spacious on a nice property that offers privacy from the road despite neighbors on both sides. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a mountain getaway, regardless of season.
