The best of the best in noboribetsu. The view from the baths cannot be beat. One morning I had the pleasure of bathing in the outdoor bath right next to a baby deer and it’s mother.

Dai-ichi is a place we would 100% recommend staying for anyone considering Noboribetsu. The room was spacious, the hotel and amenities were excellent. But the main appeal was the public onsen and location were astounding. There were many pools to choose from in a range of temperatures. There were both indoor and outdoor pools that offered different experiences. There was plenty of space and having a cool drink while onsening outdoors was a particular highlight. The breakfast had a large range of options offering both western and Japanese cuisines.

The hotel is conveniently located right next to Hell Valley and across from several restaurants, making it ideal for both day trips and overnight stays. My only complaint is the strict check-in policy—check-in starts exactly at 2 p.m., with no early check-ins allowed, so plan your visit accordingly. The hotel offers a variety of amenities, including a gift shop, several restaurants, game and karaoke rooms—great options for families or anyone looking for a relaxing staycation. My family and I stayed in a Japanese-style tatami room in the South Wing. While the room was cozy, it felt a bit small and dated. The bedding was warm and comfortable, though I wouldn’t recommend this room type for elderly guests, as getting in and out of the futon might be difficult. There are several types of onsen baths available, including steam and sauna rooms—honestly, too many to try them all. I also had my first Kaiseki dinner after visiting the onsen, and it was a wonderful experience. Overall, I was happy with my stay and would recommend this hotel for a relaxing visit to Hell Valley.

The onsen was clean, had a ton of different baths, and felt well maintained. Swimming pool area was nice as well. The staff here can speak fluent English, so it helped quite a bit with our check-in. Dinner and breakfast buffets were wonderful, worth a try at least once if you are able to.

This location is beautiful! You are are need hell's valley so expect the sulfur infused water smell to permeate you stay. Know that if you stay in the south tower, the pool and onsen is in another tower which is the opposite end of the property. Be sure to bring your key everywhere. You need it for the elevators, and to get into the onsen and pool. Staff is very friendly and helpful and do their best with us english speakers! The room has comfortable beds, lovely window coverings. The bathroom is all in 1 - shower, sink and toilet together. This is the first time we have had that in japan! There is a real closet to hang your clothes. The give you instructions on how to adorn the clothing correctly. Once you get to the onsen it is a little over whelming for a first timer - aka me. This is my experience on the female side. 1. grab a big towel and a hand towel from the attendant. 2.put your shoes in the cubbies when you enter the room 3. you can put your phone and valuable in the small cubby right there that you can lock 4. you can put your robe and what not in a basket further in, you can also keep your valuables and get a bigger locker. 5. take your hand towel and head into the bath 6. wash up - either a full shower type activity or the cup and spring water to the right. 7. enjoy the bath. There are manny different types of baths. Lovely place, good food, kaiseki was great.

We had a nice 3 pax room with comfortable twin beds for all. Not sofa bed. Our room was next to a wooded area and we opened the window to let in fresh air. And we saw deer from the room. A buffet breakfast was included in our rate and the spread is excellent. The location of this hotel is just 5 mins walk from the Hell Valley and restaurants in the little town area.

The onsen is extensive with 5 different types of mineral baths. A tourist destination for Japanese families and others. Jigokudani (Hell Valley) is right next to the hotel and interesting to explore. It was pouring throughout our stay so only explored the onsen area of town.

Relaxing onsen hotel

Incredible onsen resort. Very large, onsen with 5 different types of water. Great location right next to Hell’s Valley. A little difficult to get to if you arrive late as I did into Norobetsu; the bus to Norobetsu Onsen does not run often at night and I could not find any taxis at the station. Huge buffet with a range of dishes for dinner and breakfast with my room but the menu did not change at all over 3 nights; I would have preferred some variety. But all in all a very relaxing stay
