The staff was exceptional. The buffet excellent. Our room had some issues with the bathroom ONLY. The shower walls had black mold, the drain was sliw to empty, thw water flooded the whole room and the hair dryer did not work. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, temperature was nicely warm. The shower was nice but it sprayed water through the hose. Wi-Fi was sometimes unstable. Breakfast was great. In general it was an amazing stay; however, although all the staff was incredibly nice, the manager tries hard to sell you their tours - he even gave us wrong information (for example, he told us it was impossible to get to the underground cities by public transports; we ended up taking a public bus there which was super easy!)

Excellent!!

Fantastic little hotel right in the center of Goreme, known for Balloons. Chetan (manager) was very helpful and pleasant. Security is good and everything was comfortable. Breakfast was good, staff very kind. Great stay!!

Disappointing

If you’re considering booking here, I strongly advise against it. The balcony rooms offer disappointing views of a dumpster lot. It defies the purpose of pretty hot air balloons pictures. Additionally, I don’t recommend booking any tours through their concierge; we had a negative experience with inflated prices. For example, the Turkish dinner was priced at 75 euros here, while it was only 40 euros elsewhere. The same discrepancy applied to the red tour, which they quoted at 100 euros, whereas we found it for 50 euros elsewhere. We lost money here. I guess is part of the experience. The breakfast was subpar, with cold and greasy food, and our room had a moldy shower and a lingering smell of smoke despite being designated as smoke-free. I urge you to explore other accommodation options for a more enjoyable stay.

The property was convenient for our trip. We slept well and the bathroom was spacious. Bathroom towels were a bit torn and the bed cover had a hole. When bathrooms are used in other areas, the pipes make a long whistling sound. Overall a good stay but the experience for future guests can be improved.

Clean, nice staff but office attitude needs work

The place is comfortable and reasonably well located. The breakfast, chef and cleaning staff were very good and attentive. Be careful not to confuse hotels - there is the Shoestring CAVE house and the, separate, Shoestring Stone house. At a guess the stone house may have been named to pick up confused bookings from the cave house. It also confused the local tour and balloon operators we dealt with so …. The only real blight on the stay was our effort to have some laundry done. The sign on our room said 120 TL to wash. The first person in the office said they don’t do washing; the second one said they do, but it costs 200TL and the sign is old. We paid the 200Tl (washed and dried). It can back wet, although some effort to dry it was apparent; we took it back to have it dried and again it came back wet (although drier). We took draped it around as best we could to dry it. When we mentioned it on the way out, we were told (at first) that it was dry and we couldn’t tell because it might have been warm, then it was ‘okay, some of it is wet but not all of it, etc etc. Only an incident, but says a lot about the attitude in the front office. We’re it not for the employed staff this rating would have been more severe.

Lovely hotel near the centre of the town. Room good, breakfast amazing for Turkey. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Some properties adjacent to the hotel are industrial. We did DIY tours by ourselves with Ahmet a really helpful and informative taxi driver.

Clean hotel and good service

Prompt check-in, helped us book for the balloons. Property was clean and spacious. The restaurant was upstairs which I had thought is a rooftop but there was no rooftop. Breakfast was traditional Turkish was nice. The issues we had was leaking jet bath, water stopped running mid shower and the next morning we had no water until like 8am (apparently due to some local town issues). However, the night staff Aghora really did go out his way to help us. He gave a wiper for the leak, he sorted the water issue initially, in the morning 5am he failed to sort the issue again but gave a bottle of water to wash with for prayers. He really did try his best with every issue we had. That is why overall it’s a 4* Carpark area right outside. The town/restaurants all 10 mins walking distance.

The room was very cold. Upon several warning the heat is increased a little bit. The heating system was shutof after midnight completely for natural gas saving (!!!) The bathroom has many problems. The sink was blocked. the dirty water was not draining away. The shower tap was totally broken. The water was gushing out from the joints and the hose. The window in bathroom was not being closed properly. One of the head light of the bed was very dangerous due to electric leakage. I had a smal shock.

When booking it said welcome drink, nothing was offered. When we went to our room the fridge was mouldy and the pillows were rock hard and had no pillow cases on them. The breakfast offered was inedable, the phones in the room dont work. All in all, sorry to say worst place I've stayed while traveling turkey

Location was excellent, staff were wonderful, unfortunately Goreme is undergoing road reconstruction so everything very dusty. This was no fault of the hotel, and all hotels had the same problem. I would definitely stay here again, hopefully when roadworks are finished.
