Black Hills Vacation

Beautiful location!

What a great place to stay! They had everything we needed and such a beautiful location! My kids loved the creek that ran thru the property and we enjoyed watching the wildlife in the backyard. Such a nice quiet area with beautiful views!

Christmas Vacation

We had a blast in this cabin! There were 7 of us including 2 toddlers and the layout and seating was perfect! Location was great for the outings we had to get to. Definitely recommended! We will be coming back!

Elk Creek Retreat Review

Wonderful accommodations just as shown in the photos. Garage was great to store side-by-sides overnight. Location was perfect for access to the riding we were looking for.

The cabin was great for our family. We brought our sxs and their were so many trails by the house. The house had everything we needed in it.

Our first visit but not our last!

We enjoy activities in the northern part of the Black Hills and this location was perfect. Everything we needed was at the house. We really appreciated having garage space for vehicles. It was a great place to have quiet evening after a day of adventures. Check in and out was easy. Host was quickly available by text message for a couple questions. We hope to be back to this location on our next trip.

Amazing Retreat

Our youngest son was running the ultra marathon so the Elk Creek Retreat was the perfect place for us to stay. It was fairly close to most of the aid stations. The Elk Creek home and area are beautiful and very comfortable for our group of six adults and one very active almost three year old. We had a great time!

Rustic Retreat/Resort in the Black Hills

We selected this property rental due to the location. We trailered our motorcycle from out of state and took day trips to the Black Hills, Bad Lands, Mt Rushmore/Crazy Horse, and Devil's Tower. The location was perfect. The home is private and secluded- just as pictured. There are other homes nearby, but we did not see or hear anyone all week. The feel of the cabin is rustic, and all of the furnishings and bedding were extremely comfortable. We slept great! The kitchen is fully stocked, and we had everything we needed to cook and grill in the evening. Having permission to use the garage was also beneficial as we could park our truck and motorcycle inside after every trip. One of the highlights was drinking coffee in the am and cocktails in the pm while sitting on the back balcony. We were greeted every time by a doe and a fawn (still had spots) that would feed in the front and back. It was so relaxing. Please note- the rental has an AC unit on the second floor. We really didn't need it the week we were there as we were able to open the windows and the house stayed cool. Thank you Elk Creek Resort. We would love to return someday.

It was hard not having cell phone service.

We enjoyed our stay. It was very relaxing and close to several fishing spots. The only thing I would suggest is a land line since cell phone is zero. We realized how important that would have been as one of our group a had a severe heart issue after we got home. It would have been a bad situation if it would have happed in the hills.

Nice place! Neighbors were closer than we expected from the pictures. Main bedroom was a little chilly dur8the night since there was no heat source in that bedroom.

Great location

We did three days of ATV riding and this was the perfect jumping off point for getting to trails. A beautiful location with a little stream in front and a few horses in back. Loved the outside seating for discussing the days adventures.
