★☆☆☆☆ – Would Give Zero Stars If Possible This was by far the worst experience we had in Naxos. Most of the people we met on the island were warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. For the first three nights of our trip, we stayed at another property just down the road where the hosts treated us like family and provided amazing hospitality for about one-third of the cost. Our experience at Citrus House was the complete opposite. Upon arrival, friends who were staying across the street simply wanted to see the property. They were not allowed to step foot on the premises, and the owner’s daughter actually went across the street to verify they had accommodations, making us feel as though we were being accused of lying. During our four-night stay, we ran out of toilet paper, the trash was only emptied once, and no blankets were provided, only a thin sheet. For a property at this price point, that was unacceptable. The worst part happened after checkout when we returned briefly to retrieve belongings we had accidentally left behind. The owner’s daughter began yelling at me from across the fence, demanding to know what I wanted and telling me to get off the property. This was the most expensive place we stayed during our trip and also the worst experience we had in Naxos. I would definitely look elsewhere and would not recommend this property to anyone. You will find accommodations just as close to the beach with far better hospitality and service.
