The Sea Cabbage is a cozy 4 bedroom & 3 ½ bath home that is huddled between the South Nags Head sandbar & the stillness of the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. This home showcases a luxury King Suite, 2 queen beds, and a pyramid bed. The floor plan is suitable for all guests with the top level presenting a well-equipped kitchen & a main living area ready for entertainment. The lavish king suite is situated on the mid-level oozing with solitude with its own secluded bathroom & personal elevator access. The lower level has a queen bedroom, pyramid bunk bedroom, private den & full bathroom. On the ground level, you can access the outdoor shower, gated private pool, fenced-in area for children, yard & carport area. There is an elevator that services every level of the home. Sea Cabbage has it all!

This home sits tall with its wide-open decks that highlight the hypnotizing ocean views and amazing sunsets. You will also be a short walk to the luminous beach & the rolling ocean waves. Sit on the back deck when the dusk cascades down the famous bird sanctuary & at night relish in the south’s open skies for star gazing. Views of Bodie Island Lighthouse are available from the back decks as well. While you momentarily reside your roots at this serene location that sits on the reserved end of the island, your soul will be soaking up the panoramic ocean views. Don’t be fooled by its tranquility because you are only a brief drive to the city limits. Visit the local fishing piers, lavish your taste buds with fresh seafood, sunset dining, putt putt golf, climb Jockey Ridge’s colossal sand dune & experience the galore of shopping adventures. If you want to explore away from the oceanside & peaceful grasslands you can drive to downtown Manteo for an abundance of adventures such as the NC Aquarium, stop by Pirates Cove to catch a glimpse of the fisherman’s daily catches or travel down to the end of Hatteras Island for the 60-minute ferry cruise to the quaint Island of Ocracoke. There were only a few things that I wish the house had - one was another outside trash can and also a recycling bin. Also if the mattresses were upgraded it would have made for more pleasant sleeping - but that said, they were not as bad as we have seen in some rentals. Overall, the house was well furnished and we hope to rent there again!

Sea Cabbage

The cottage was nice with great access to the beach. The elevator was a great feature for my senior companions. However there was an extreme amount of bird excrement from small birds perching under the roof on the deck. The pool looked clean but the weather was cool and we did not swim. The code I was emailed did not unlock the door but was remedied with a call to the management company. The view from the dining table is wonderful.The grounds are well maintained.

Don’t stay here

We got this property specifically with an elevator because we were taking my 85-year-old mother. The elevator only worked for two hours the entire time we were there so my mother had to climb up and down four flights of stairs every time we left the house. The linen package is a joke unless you want to use the same washcloth for four days without washing it and you like exfoliating sheets. My sister also found a dirty diaper under the bed.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Another beautiful week in the OBX. The Sea Cabbages location was great, easy walk and uncrowded beaches. Weird layout . There was an elevator issue that was handled immediately. Kitchen cooking and baking items could be updated. Issue with linen package: damp towels on bed when we arrived, Bed linens wrapped in plastic on top of bunk not being used with mold. Lines dropped off on Thursday for next tenants and left outside under open steps. This explains the mold.
